  1. Jay Bilas is the [expletive] man. The last few years he's become brutally honest. Bilas is an ACC homer. In 05 he dropped the gem that Deron Williams, the Big 10 preseason POTY, wouldn't be in the top 15 players in the ACC. Yeah spot on jackass. No, Bilas is one of the best commentators in the game today. Doesn't mean he's always right, and he admitted his Williams comment was way off at the end of the year. Heck, he called the Illinois-Arizona game in '05. I don't care, don't like him a bit. He ever say that he was wrong about Weber crying about Sampson? Or did he once again totally put his big foot in his mouth? And I thought I was sensitive to media criticism.
  2. I had Cuse out to K-State but the yahoo in my pool that had Butler in the Final Four all of a sudden looks smart. Luckily I'm the only person in my 18-member pool with Ohio State winning it all so that's basically my only real rooting interest.
  3. H2H. I tend not to worry about SBs because except for some truly elite guys it tends to come at the expense of homers and RBIs.

  5. how are they going to do it? i'm pretty sure there still aren't lights on the top of michigan stadium. They bring in temporary lighting. Iowa has done it many times in recent years. Yeah, before Notre Dame added lights in the 1996-97 renovations to their stadium (and before they got NBC to give them an all-day-games contract), they shipped in portable lights from Musco all the time for home games.
  6. Tony Barbee to Auburn. http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/utep-tony-barbee-auburn-032410
  7. I'd have to watch it again too - I have that Cubs DVD set that includes the game - but the first time I watched it, I was struck by just HOW easy all the plays were. I mean, only 7 outs were recorded in play to begin with, and I'm pretty sure the ball hit to Orie was the only one that even required a half-ass effort to get to.
  8. 20-K games: 4 Perfect games: 18 "Who?" needed an otherworldly defensive play to save his perfecto. Wood needed someone to miss a playable grounder at third base to NOT get a no-hitter. Wood's game is better. There's no debate.

  11. Ball State loses only two seniors (neither starters) from the group that went from presumptive No. 2 seed in the MAC tournament to done after losing the 8/9 game. The starting lineup for next year will probably look something like this Randy Davis - Jr Jauwan Scaife - So Pierre Sneed - Jr Malik Perry - Sr Jarrod Jones - Jr If the three sophomores can make leaps into their junior year, 10-11 could be BSU's best shot to get back to the tournament since their last dance, in 2000. At the least, I would expect some sort of postseason bid.
  12. College overtime is dumb and I think each team should start at their own 30 or something. Anything to make a team actually have to play their way into FG range.
  13. I'm not a big fan of this, but it was pretty much inevitable. Interestingly, the Vikings (who most recently lost a playoff game in OT on a field goal) voted against the proposal.
  14. I can think of a lot of things that didn't go right for the Cubs. You could argue that more things went right for the Cards. Nermind all the fluke productive years and pixie dust, how about Pujols emerging from relative obscurity to become arguably the best player in baseball? It's not arguable whether he's the best (he is), and the Pujols phenomenon by itself is probably more good fortune than almost any other baseball team has had this decade.
  15. What a tool. tim, i'm not going to call for him to be fired, but i sure as hell am going to be critical of everything he does until he makes a deep tourney run. Deeper than 2005? So you're saying we have to win the championship to be happy. Gotcha. 1 tournament win in 5 years ain't cutting it. title game appearance aside, any other coach at a major program would be getting the same heat with those numbers. Ironically, this exact sentence proves that I do not root for a major program.
  16. His attitude has not cost him tens of millions of dollars. His injury problems have, though.
  17. 27-7-8. Another day at the office.
  18. Pretty sure both teams were out of timeouts by that point, which made the ending that much better. No NBA ending with 7 timeouts called in the last minute. Jon Gasaway mentioned that Izzo still had a timeout left. And was about to call it (watch the video) but pulled back at the last second. Why, I'll never know, but it paid off.
  19. That rat bastard. Clearly Matt Painter should surrender the victory as a sign of protest. Oh by the way Andy in case you didn't know 3/11 > 2/16 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
  20. That rat bastard. Clearly Matt Painter should surrender the victory as a sign of protest.
  21. Next weekend's NCAA announcers: Nantz/Kellogg in Houston, Enberg/Bilas in Syracuse, Lunquist/Raftery in St. Louis, Johnson/Elmore in Salt Lake
  22. What the hell did you have happening to Kansas? I think he said he had MSU beating them. I had A&M in my elite 8 too. I'm down to 5 of those teams, but still both of my title-game participants kicking, which is really what it comes down to.
  23. I think I need to root for them. That'll do the trick.
  24. I can't even count how many elementary mistakes A&M has made. Purdue deserves to win.
  25. A&M is really not a very smart team. Purdue is, and that's why they're up when they have no business in the game.
