  1. I've never been an April game at Wrigley that wasn't terrible weather. Not that there haven't been April games that were nice weather, but I haven't been to one. I've been to one that had decent weather (the STL game in '09 which Soriano won with an 8th-inning homer), but several others that were awful. April is definitely a Wrigley crapshoot.
  2. The logo will be used next year.
  3. He classified down a grade. Let's just say, well, he wouldn't be going to Michigan if he wasn't really good at basketball. How exactly does this work and how do state activities associations allow it to happen? I remember when I found out Tyler Hansbrough was two months older than me yet graduated a year later, which pretty much guaranteed them a state title in 2005. The whole thing seems absurd and unfair. Depends on state. One of our better players wasn't allowed to play his senior year for us as he turned 20. Granted that's been fifteen years ago. Michigan has a similar rule that was recently amended to allow for cases of kids with developmental disabilities (i.e. not kids who will play D-I sports).
  4. Carolina picks Robert Alford, CB, SE Louisiana.
  5. Needed one more hit to get into fake rally range.
  6. They had their big night for the week last night and we messed that up.
  7. I wish I could say I was surprised that Ramiro Pena and Tim Hudson just gave Atlanta control of this game.
  8. Aaaand all control is gone. Don't see that often.
  9. The Cubs have him through 2015. I love the Shark but I'm not sure acting at the height of his value is the most prudent move. Is it through 2015 or until 2015(through 2014)? Baseball-Reference has 2016 as his earliest FA date.

  11. He looks great, no doubt. No way they trade him though. Pretty sure he's kidding. Not 100% though. You never know with Kyle.
  12. Yep. That was a pretty clear block - the Michigan guy was still moving after Triche jumped. maybe, given the benefit of several slow motion replays, but charges have been called that way all year KU got FTs for this play late in our game but we still overcame a questionable call to win, imagine that In what universe is that questionable? McGary's hip collided with the KU player and threw him off track. It's a foul.
  13. If Lillibridge or Mather were constantly playing terribly in late-game situations to lose us ballgames, maybe they would have been labeled the scapegoat. It's not like the fans picked Marmol randomly.
  14. I guess I'm feeling a random nasty-Marmol performance tonight. Maybe?
  15. If Fuji doesn't get his [expletive] together it won't matter much if Marmol pitches.
  16. Only reason Louisville had the arrow was because of an equally awful double-foul call where the foul the Wichita kid committed was evidently to have his head in the way of all the shots it was taking from the Louisville player. Just terrible.
  17. Andrelton Simmons scratched for Atlanta with a sprained thumb, so we've got that going for us. BJ Upton CF Heyward RF J Upton LF Freeman 1B Uggla 2B Francisco 3B Laird C Pena SS Teheran P
