    Agreed, this is a 'take one for the team' situation especially with Beeler looming.

    Good thing Schwarber won yesterday's game.

    Schwarber is not catching 31 innings (or more) in 27 or so hours. And they're not playing him in the outfield. So we'll have to survive.

    We seem to get burned a lot by the shift, and they're most annoying in spots like that where the guy doesn't really hit the ball somewhere he often does

    Difference in hitting ability isn't that great, keep Wood available later, I guess. Hammel mucked that up by reaching

    I would ask why Hammel is taking this at-bat, but short bench that includes two terrible hitting catchers.

    I wonder how often we wear 3 road jerseys in 3 days. Probably far more common since they introduced these alternates.

    Seriously, this whole "we don't care if we strike out a ton" philosophy isn't going to work if shots like the Soler double are gonna be as uncommon as they are

    We seem to have a lot of real tough losses like this this year. Maybe it's just because every one of them stings more after waiting for this season for 5 years.

    Well, you're not going to get a better chance against Chapman than the day after throwing 44 pitches and with Schwarber, Bryant and Rizzo up.
