  1. Just had a chance to watch the BBTN take. Harold Reynolds is a moron. Raising the right arm is strike, pumping the fist is out. Come on, Harold. Don't be an idiot. Admit the Angels got jobbed.
  2. I won't blame the call unless the Angels lose in seven...therefore making it so they would have won the series. But I think the Halos are going to win it anyway. Scioscia is going to have his team pumped for the Anaheim games and the fans will be pumped too. You reckon they're gonna be pumped? Phew, if that was me it'd be Incredible Hulk time. Normally I hate Joe Buck, but I was pleased to see him back up the Angels on that travesty of a call.

  4. In my opinion, this goes right up with, and maybe even surpasses, the Denkinger Game of 1985. This one extended the inning instead of extras which should have happened. After that crap with Pierzynski, I knew the Sox would win. Teams can recover from a lot of crap: errors, bloop hits, etc. but when an ump blows a call like that, it's murder for any team's psyche. Pierzynski is previously known for kicking a Giants trainer in the groin. Now this. I have no respect for the man. He is a classless loser and deserves to be treated like one. I cannot wait for Friday night's Game 3 to see what the Angel fans' reaction to him will be. This game was stolen from the Angels. Heinously. And although MLB doesn't have the guts to do so, they should reverse the call and play extra innings on Friday afternoon, then fly to Anaheim and play Game 3 Saturday night. That's a simple, correct solution. But Selig won't do it. I don't know if I have ever been this angry with an ending to a non-Cubs baseball game. EVER.
  5. Should LA lose this series, they now have their Bartman/Boone/Shoeless Joe story.
  6. Because God hates the Cubs. Eveyone knows that... ;) Crazy call. Denkinger has company now. Denkinger won't have company if the Halos win this series anyway. Scioscia won't let his team dwell on the call. The Angels will still win the series in seven just like I said before the series began.
  7. This is ridiculous. Cheer on your cheaters, Sox fans. Why don't they just go the whole hog and cork their bats and inject steroids before Game 3
  8. Why is it that the Cubs never get this crap? Why do the Sox catch all the BS breaks? Why do they always always get lucky like this? It's what got them in, and now it's getting them further into the playoffs.
  9. And the Sox win on an absolute bull*** call. Go figure.
  10. Cards win 5-3. Carpenter looked real solid tonight.
  11. For once, McCarver actually helps me. He CANNOT run to first. He is OUT. That is a bad call. And just earlier I talked about how great they've been...unfortunately, they make a bad call here. If the Sox win on this one, I'll be pissed.
  12. Can Pierzynski legally run to first base even though the catcher caught the ball cleanly? I don't think he can right?
  13. I looked up midway through the replay, but the little I saw looked like they made the right call. It shouldn't have been close though, you have to be pretty stupid to venture that far off second on a line drive to left. The super slo-mo replay right after the play actually happened showed that Crede was out. Cub-esque baserunning there. By the way, a quick word about the umpiring in this series...it has been fantastic. Consistent strike zones, all the close calls in the basepaths being called correctly...rarely do these guys get recognition for doing things right but in this instance they deserve it.
  14. Wow...channel 55 at Ball State is the campus movie channel. In the entire year-plus that I've been enrolled here the channel has never worked. So what happens? Channel 55 is FX for Delaware County, and today the movie channel shows The Longest Yard. This is my life.
  15. Goes down as the 8,452,936th reason not to like the White Sox.
  16. I wish we would have kept Farnsy. He's really no better or worse than Roberto Novoa is so why not keep Kyle and still have the potential for a ridiculously funny body slamming incident on your team? I guess Hendry doesn't think about these things.
  17. This is an excellent point. For all the talk about how Hendry 'lets the dust settle' before he does anything, it's worth noting that, at least last season, he had little choice but to wait until Sammy's giant contract was moved to see what he could do.
  18. I'd make that deal in a second. Hendry should give Cashman a call right now to see if he's willing.
  19. I disagree. We had three pitchers get injured by line drives this year (Borowski, Fox, Prior). Did the other 29 teams combined have three pitchers miss time because of line drives? The only one I can think of is Halladay. (Clement doesn't count, he didn't miss any time.) Injuries may have been a convenient excuse, but there's a reason it is convenient. I doubt anyone can deny the Cubs have been the most injured team in baseball the last two seasons. In that span we have seen every important player on the team except for Zambrano, Lee, and (2004) Alou spend time (often significant time) on the DL. Just off the top of my head: Borowski, Wood, Prior, Sosa, Ramirez, Nomar, Walker have all missed sinificant time over the last two years in Cub uniforms. I don't disagree that the Cubs make too many excuses for their failures, but the injury argument is entirely valid in this case.
  20. This isn't hard to believe at all. Even if you throw in all the bandwagon Sox fans that have sprung up around Chicago there are still not that many White Sox fans around. Such things come when you have the second most popular team in the city.
  21. I never thought I'd say this ever...but...Go Irish :-\ I hate ND more than USC, but I'm so tired of hearing about them, and I want a new Champion this year...so...Go Irish... I'll be at the game too. Do you know where Gameday is setting up? The last time they were there it was infront of the Library (touchdown Jesus). You going up for the Pep Rally on Friday night? Montana is the speaker, and it will be aired on ESPNEWS. Charlie has been wearing a USC OWNS ND hat all week, and is expected to wear it at the pep rally as well. I really can't wait for this weekend. I also like ND being 13 point dogs. So far as I can figure out, I can't imagine where a better spot to set up for the Gameday set would be than in front of TD Jesus, so I imagine that's where they'll be. I can't wait to hear everyone booing the crap out of Corso every time he speaks. I'm getting sick of Lee. As to what I think of Weis: I love the guy. Finally, ND hires someone with a no-nonsense attitude that truly believes that ND can win every game they play in. You got the sense toward the end of his tenure that Ty didn't even think the Irish could compete in games like FSU and USC and naturally ND was spanked in those games. I really do not see Weis leaving until he retires entirely. Charlie knows as well and probably better than just about anyone that if you can succeed as coach at Notre Dame then you are more beloved than anyone in your entire profession. And considering that he is already having success and pulling in a top-10 recruiting class for next year (yes Bob and Tyrone, ND CAN still recruit with the big boys), I really do not see why Charlie would leave. He loves the place too much.
  22. Byrd plunks Rowand. That didn't look good for the control issue. Alright I'll ask...what the hell is with those stupid things that look like high school letter jackets that the managers are wearing?
  23. Well here he is. Hope for the best.
  24. Scioscia pitches out and one of the Super Molina Brothers nails Scotty Pod stealing. Have I mentioned that I want Scioscia managing the Cubs?
