That's honestly almost nausea-inducing.

Talked to Sarge today

Holy crap, is EVERYONE in the organization going to use this excuse to pick up crappy hitters? -
Is there some kind of rule that says SF needs to beat the NFC contenders and only the NFC contenders? Their two wins are over the Rams and Bucs, they're playing the Bears tough...I guess I should be glad now that Carolina doesn't play them.

I have no clue why 1-loss Oregon is behind OSU and ND, no clue why 1-loss Bama is behind ND and much-inferior-loss Va Tech, and no clue why Va Tech is behind Notre Dame. But I'm not going to complain. For every time a team has been helped by early losses (see ND 2000), they've been screwed by late losses (ND 1998 and 2002).

Yes, but since I don't like UNC, they'll somehow field a good team and go to the Sweet 16 anyway. I really dislike the Heels...
-
VT was off and I have no idea why they jumped ND. They probably should be ahead of ND, but why now and not last week?
-
I'm telling you, the Bears' slogan should be "This game is butt-ugly!"
-
The Indy Fox affiliate is blacking out the NFL telecast, so I get to watch Colts-Texans. What a barn burner this ought to be... I hate all TV deals right now.
-
ND is one of the three teams DePaul plays twice. ND also plays Providence and Marquette twice. That's a big improvement on the TV-conscious, murderous slate that had us playing Syracuse, UConn and Pitt twice every year.
-
They sure did. I know from experience inputting player names into NCAA Football 2006 that a Chauncey Stovall exists and plays football for somebody, but I have no idea what school. That guy is a moron.

Surely you don't think Jim Bowden would give us TWO of his starters for one minor leaguer?? -
That sucks. I REALLY want Oregon to lose. Otherwise ND may end up playing them in the Fiesta Bowl, and I can think of much better matchups. Can we make Oregon play USC again? No offense to PSU, but I'd be more worried about a potent offense like Oregon's in a Fiesta Bowl matchup. ND will not be playing PSU in the Fiesta Bowl. If they both win out it should be PSU/ACC in the Orange and ND/either Pac 10 or at-large (probably UCLA/Oregon or O$U...maybe Bama) That's even worse. UCLA scares the living crap out of me to be honest. If "Good UCLA" shows up they're one of the top 5 teams in the country. It's "Bad UCLA" that submarined their season over the last few weeks. I don't know what to make of Bama. On paper, ND would be in an ideal situation to beat up on them with their offense, but Bama is a very scrappy team. Not many teams would have made it unbeaten that far without their best playmaker. I have no worries whatsoever about O$U. We would smoke them, IMO.

I missed that...but still, the last time we played a team from Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl...well, we came out on the short end.

As someone who is hoping that Mizzou by several freak occurrences makes it to a BCS game with an 8-4 record, no. :P Here's your BCS nightmare, with all the possibilities except a couple already explained in this thread: Pac-10: Oregon Big 12: Missouri Big Ten: Penn State (no offense PSU, just that Mich and OSU have more national pull) ACC: 8-4 Florida State SEC: South Carolina (Is this even possible?) Big East: South Florida (don't laugh, if USF wins out, including beating WV, this is a reality) At-larges: UCLA/USC (If UCLA beat USC and won out I can't imagine either of them getting passed up; I'm assuming further nightmarish occurrences such as ND losing one of their last two) Ouch. Would there be any room for at-larges in that scenario? Penn State is the only conference winner that could conceivably be in the championship game in that scenario, and I'd think that USC and Texas would both have as good a shot as them. Valid point. I probably should substitute Texas for UCLA, as I would think the BCS would see more $$ in the Horns. And in that scenario, you're probably looking at a USC/PSU title game (even with USC's hypothetical loss)...or something like that. That's why it's a BCS nightmare!

Vice City is awesome. Isnt that where you had to watch the stripper for 5 minutes in order to pass the mission? I daresay Jaxx is referring to the 20-year-old arcade game and not Vice City...but I could be hideously wrong.

Those are Bill James projections. 21 HRs for Pie? Seriously? I'll take those numbers from Pie, Cedeno, and Murton. wow, .874 OPS. I'll say right now that if all three posted a +.800 OPS, this team would be vastly improved (assuming they actually got to play). How did James make his projections? Well, he definitely didn't project that Dusty would be the Cubs' manager. Because there is no way in hell more than one rookie busts into the lineup this season unless Pie hits .500. -
Don't cry Georgia fan girl, I'll comfort you. Haha just kidding. Real tough loss for the Dawgs.
-
Big-time choke for Georgia, big break for Auburn. Lucky for the Dawgs they just need to beat UK and they'll still play LSU for the SEC title.
-
Does Georgia have timeouts or not? What are you doing?!?!?!
-
Wow, crazy play. Aromashodu catches a long pass, gets to the 5, fumbles, Courtney Taylor recovers for the TD. Still plenty of time for Georgia though - 1:52 left. Edit - except you can't fumble it forward...1st and goal around the 3. That's really a worse case for Georgia. Auburn can run the clock down to nothing and kick it.
