  1. Nah way man... apparently the only way you're the best player is if you win championships... screw your physical dominance and utterly amazing skill. Uh yeah, give me an example of someone considered one of the best players of all time that hasn't won a championship? This isn't baseball. If you're truly the best in basketball, you're on championship winning teams. That's nothing new. Dan Marino sucked. No, but not one really says he's the best football player of all time either. Anyway, I was talking about basketball--even a quarterback can't carry a team to a title like a dominant talent in basketball can. Put LeBron on the a roster like the Timberwolves every year of his career. He wont win one. Given, he doesn't have that problem, and he will have good teams around him, but there ARE things that are beyond the players control. To me, it's like judging wins in baseball. Yes, if the guy pitches better than anyone in baseball, there is a good chance he'll lead the league in wins. But, he still relies on his teammates for those wins as well.
  2. I'd say I don't care if they win, just getting to witness LeBron's greatness, but I'd be lying.
  3. LeBron is playing so damn well right now. And, not that I care, but why is Howard still on the bench? Nevermind, I'm sure he'll be back after the TO.
  4. Sometimes it's just as simple as hitting open shots.
  5. I'd be pissed.
  6. As much as I'd love to rant...we're still up by 1 at halftime. Right, they were up by 22, but, overall, still even. Need a good second half.
  7. I'm starting to think that Dwight Howard's elbows are nearly as innocent as he likes to think they are.
  8. What I am saying is that Cleveland is an grossly overrated team that is only good because of one player. This series has shown, IMO, Orlando is the better team and when the series is over and the Cavs are at home licking their wounds, people will realize how overrated this Cavs truly was. 66-16. They're facing a team that they have a tough time matching up against. Get over it. They had the same LeBron James last year. He's better this year, but he's played fewer minutes, scored fewer points, and grabbed fewer rebounds than last year. And yet somehow they have managed to win 21 more games. LeBron's supporting cast is fine. Everyone was ready to crown them NBA champs after their regular season and first 2 series sweeps. They ran into a team that is playing slightly better than them. It's that simple. 4 games don't justify some stupid thought that you've held all year despite being proven wrong game by game until this series.
  9. Yeah, tonight was a really tough loss. I know the series isn't over, but I kept thinking how this is a must win, and it felt like a series loss. Obviously I'll watch and cheer for the Cavs, but I'm not sure I can seriously get back into the series until game 6 (if necessary[that sounds horrible :(])
  10. I'm upset.
  11. It was called a joke, get your panties out of a wad. Next time I'll probably make something about Lebron's little friend Mo guaranteeing a series win when he's barely shooting over 30% for the series against a team that is 1 second away from being up 3-0. Oops, sorry I didn't notice the oh-so noticeable sarcasm in
  12. Kerry Wood is simply doing what every Cleveland bullpen pitcher is doing. Blowing complete and absolute ass. :(
  13. Coming from a Cavs fan, albeit one that is far too young to have ever fully appreciated Jordan: LeBron is no Jordan. Although, it's hard to deny that he is more gifted, physically. LeBron is just absolutely huge. Luckily, he's 24 and probably around 3-5 years from his prime. Physically, he's probably at his prime right now. He's going to need to continue to develop his game more. He has already made enormous strides and I just hope that he continues. Also, how ridiculous is it to try to jab at a guy for going crazy when he hit a game winning three with only one second left? Come on, give the guy some slack.
  14. I have no problem with them originally calling it a flagrant 2. It looked much worse than it was in a series that has already gotten "out of control." And, let's not forget that this is Ron Artest in a game that is decided. This is prime frustration time. However, all of that means nothing considering the fact that they went to the replay and upheld the call. That was absolutely ridiculous.
  15. can someone .gif the fisher play?
  16. They really called a foul on Battier there? I understand they're trying to get "control of the game" but sweet jesus that was one of the sissiest fouls I've ever seen called.
  17. Victor Martinez is really, really good. .398/.466/.655/1.121 so far this year.
  18. A suspension for that? That could be ruled as a box out or something. That wont be a suspension. No way. Especially not on Kobe. That said, this series is going to be awesome.
  19. Then by all means, post some of these stats. Just fyi, if actually do have some stats that back it up, which I doubt, I will just point out the dubious relationship between traditional statistics and the game of basketball and discredit you that way. I don't have specific stats. I have the example of the Portland series and have read numerous quotes from our GM Daryl Morey that they indeed employ this strategy when they play teams with a superstar because statistically it gives you a better chance to win. Morey is a uncommon stat guru so I'll trust what he says. The problem is, this isn't the LeBrons anymore. This team doesn't stand and watch LeBron. You can't defend just LeBron and "let the others beat you" because they WILL beat you. Mo Williams is a fantastic shooter, and Z has increased his range even further this year which will force Yao further out onto the floor.
  20. those tshirts would definitely not be funny Carlos Mencia and the Blue Collar Comedy Tour would beg to differ. Oh snap, I think I just proved your point. Most of those shirts on that site are tired, cliche jokes that prey upon the lowest common denominator. I'm going to suggest a shirt design for that site that will be a catch-all for their more frugally-minded customer: "I'm a white heterosexual American male. If you're not like me, you're different. And different is bad." I'm still just spit-ballin' that one, it's not 100% finished. I may include a "[expletive]" somewhere in there because lessening ones status by equating them with gays is always hilarious, amirite? You must be a genius of some sort! Why, if I'm not mistaken, you've just proven that stupid, childish jokes are...stupid and childish! You're on to something big here.
  21. I don't see a suspension coming. I can't see the league doing that, even if it MIGHT be warranted. Also, I thought it was hilarious last night how when they showed that replay they started to talk about how Kobe does this because he needs something to get himself fired up like MJ. Let that have been J.R. Smith, Melo, Rasheed, or anyone else in the league portrayed as a "thug" and they would have spent the next half hour talking about what a cheap shot it was and how that player just doesn't "get it."
  22. LeBron is a MUCH harder player to match up against than Kobe. With Kobe though, sometimes there is just nothing you can do. He's not nearly as athletic as LeBron, but he has a killer jumper. You just have to play solid D and hope his jumper isn't falling.
  23. omg, haha. OK, now THOSE are funny.
  24. How is that your concern after seeing the play? Amazingly enough, I can multitask with the best of them. I can have concern over Ankiel hitting the wall AND have concern for why it is considered an out, all at the same time. I just don't get how you were able to get so worked up about that being called an out. Because it shouldn't have been, injury or not. Why shouldn't it have been? There might be some technical rule that I don't know, but when I look at that, my (fairly uneducated) opinion says it's an obvious catch.
  25. Well, at least you both suck. You should double date with crazy cards fan and his wife. Lighten up, dude. It's an unfunny joke, just like a Zambrano lawn mowing t-shirt. This has been fun. We are debating over something that is completely opinion-driven. Anyway, I think the shirt is funny.
