  1. lol@ you thinking all is well and fine. Yes because the only 2 ways you can feel about the team is 'ahhh everything sucks, we will never win again, we need 22 new starters on this team' or 'everything is fine, we're going to win the super bowl' No UMF, he's totally got me there, what with all my long rants about how the OL is perfectly fine and none of the injuries so far have mattered. Totally no cause for concern, you guys. Having no injuries would drastically change the way Mike Tice calls games and also be the magic fountain of youth for our defense. Oh, without looking at the stats, it appears our two best oline performances in recent games we have lost vs HOU and SEA.
  2. lol@ you thinking all is well and fine. Yes because the only 2 ways you can feel about the team is 'ahhh everything sucks, we will never win again, we need 22 new starters on this team' or 'everything is fine, we're going to win the super bowl' Yes I've clearly pointed out that I want 22 new starters on the team. I clearly DID say this team will not win a Superbowl and they have a talent gap due to dreadful drafting which will only get worse moving forward once out old defense starts to break down.
  3. I'm on board with this. His one liners aren't as cute when we're losing in horrific fashion.
  4. Stop whining. Teams lose games they should win all the time. Yeah it sucks but you gotta pick your [expletive] up and get ready for the next one. The Packers lost to the Colts earlier this year, the Giants have lost multiple games they had no business losing, the 49ers went 0-1-1 against the Rams this year, etc. But whatever, you choose to act like the world is ending each and every time we lose. Yes I know it appears the Bears don't have the pieces they need to make a SB run, but whatever, try to put a positive spin on things for once in your life. I see what your saying but my positivity tokens are spent after they've lost horribly to playoff contending teams. Lets not even factor in that the Cubs and Bulls are my favorite teams in their respective sports. They cannot afford to lose this next one to the Vikings.
  5. Chandler Jones was the right fit cause he was the obvious 4-3 end. Emery tried to play chess in the first round when you need to play checkers. Mercilius was another name at that slot. Emery then decides to [expletive] on the rest of the draft after using the mantra of 'needing impact players that can contribute immediately.' I'm just worried at the prospect of having to retool our O-line, defense, and pass catching positions with inept coaching while pissing away the primes of Cutler and Marshall.
  6. lol@ you thinking all is well and fine.
  7. Because the difference in draft picks between losing out and winning the division is insignificant? Because when you have two playmakers on offense, and a defense that, today's aberration aside, can shut down teams, if you win the division you like your chances winning 2 straight? Because only weirdos that like seeing teams tank get any enjoyment out of losing? Because the GM we have now isn't the one we had blowing draft picks in the past? I don't enjoy losing but this clearly is not a Super Bowl team. Emery drafted Shea which is still a bad pick. We shall see how he does going forward. You really think we can win two straight against GB/NY/SF potentially?
  8. Ask yourself, why do I want this team as currently constructed and hurt to make the playoffs?
  9. Keep losing losers. We have the worst collection of pass catchers outside the only one who has business being on an nfl roster. What's worse is with all the fail ass drafting over the past few years we will most likely have to start rebuilding the defense. Many holes in this sinking ship. On the bright side, if we lose at home vs GB that should knock us out and put Lovie on the hot seat. Anything to remove this offense from the field
  10. Take the top 3. Yeah, Brown vs the Boys isn't a good matchup
  11. Is McFadden playing? I'd go Torrey either way. I'm going with the Browns defense this week. It was either them or the Bills vs JAC and I think the Browns have been under the radar all year long. They're pretty decent on D.
  12. Frank Gore vs STL or Mikel Leshoure vs Indy.
  13. Is there a fantasy thread? Gore vs StL or Leshoure vs IND?
  14. I too want a backup QB, there are just so many areas that need addressing and I would wait for a backup QB next year when there are better prospects on the board. This year's QB class is weak but very strong on the DL. You gotta get 2 quality OL and 1 TE at the very least in FA or through the draft. If we could sign Finley or another decent TE to open up holes on the field and lay down a competent block occasionally we should be looking good. I really thought Zach Miller should have been a target this past offseason to be a stopgap TE.
  15. I figure we should aim to have 3 good/really good offensive lineman for next season. I think that if you have that, you can get by with some lesser talent at the other two spots. Draft a couple of OL and sign a FA. Hopefully out of that you can get two guys who can start, alongside Carimi. I agree but I know that we also need at least one young developing LB and CB along with a TE I think of those, you can skip CB for this year. Our secondary has been a strength this year, and replacing Urlacher and getting a pass catching TE seem to be more important. Dj Moore and Kelvin Hayden are FAs though. Tillman and Jennings the year after. But yeah the Bears are probably going to forgo the CB position due to lack of picks. No reason to pick another in the 5th or 6th round. If Knox isn't back by next year I'd like to see a late WR pick to build some depth to the position.

  17. Looking at the Bears oline situation for next year, how many starters do you look to bring in? Carimi is the only one guaranteed a spot and I'm unsure if you keep Garza and look to resign Louis.
  18. I would like the Bears to gamble on him or Aaron Curry
  19. You cant make this stuff up.... What a crappy franchise.
  20. *yawn* this Cutler for MVP debate is nauseating. Lets continue to talk about how many points the Bears will score on Seattle.
  21. Well Okoye was released so perhaps The Bears go DT in the first two rounds if one falls to them.
  22. Wow, would the Bears maybe make this move?
  23. I still find it hard to believe that Chris Williams is worse than most of the guys they have played this year. He's Tice's Greg Olsen
  24. Bears grab OT Eric Fisher in the latest mock.
  25. Why? It is personnel. They ignored it for nearly a decade then drafted second rate guys. It's a 5 man unit that needs 6-7 in a season, and if you do it right only one or two are weak spots. The bears have 5 weak spots on the line. Not one good guy. No talent. They thought they could coach the suck out of them because they think are great coaches. But it's an unshinsble turd. I explained why. I wouldn't say they've totally ignored it. Have there been a lot of teams who have used 2 first rounders in the past 4 years on O line and paid millions to FA's? I think good offenses can scheme their way out of personnel issues at the line. Peyton Manning avoids sacks by getting rid of the ball, not by sitting in the pocket 10 seconds and having a great line block for him. The Packers line has looked as bad as the Bears at times, and they won a Superbowl and went 15-1 last year. I think its too simplistic to say get better blockers and the problems are solved. Just line it was too simplistic to say get some WR's, or a franchise QB. How about get a competent offense? Keep in mind that the Bears have had a bottom 5 offensive line since the 2009 season and before that they had an aging offensive line that needed to be addressed immediately. 2012 draft: 0 Offensive lineman drafted 2011 draft: 1 drafted (1st round) 2010 draft: 1 drafted (7th round) 2009 draft: 1 drafted (7th round) 2008 draft: 3 drafted (1st round, (2) in the 7th round, neither made the team) So, with the Bears offensive line either aging or awful, the Bears drafted 6 players over a 5 year span, 2 in the first round and 4 in the 7th round. Not a single pick between rounds 2-6. 7th round picks are a complete crapshoot and you can't expect to draft a 7th rounder and say 'we addressed the o-line in the draft'. Now lets look at the 'millions' of dollars we've given to FA's to fill holes. Note: I'm not including undrafted FA and practice squad players: 2012: signed Chico Rachal - a 2nd rate player signed as a backup for depth 2011: signed Chris Spencer - run of the mill starter to replace Olin Kreutz, certainly not someone you expect to make the line a lot better 2010: Did not sign any FA offensive linemen 2009: Signed Frank Omiyale and Orlando Pace and Kevin Schaeffer - this might be the only year the Bears actually tried to improve the line via FA and it failed miserably. Pace was expected to be a starting tackle, but Omiyale from the start was supposed to be a backup as well as Schaeffer. All 3 of them were terrible. Between 2010 and 2012, the Bears acquired 4 players through drafting and FA to fill offensive line holes. 1 was a 7th round pick, 1 was signed for depth, and only 2 were signed/drafted expected to contribute to the starting line. And during that entire period, the line was one of the worst 5 units in football. They blatantly ignored the position and it's been costing them every year. Can we accurately say that the bears really haven't developed much of anything out of their recent drafts? This coaching staff is awful
