  1. Oh, sweet. The Jags are gonna keep being bad. Lovie is gonna call plays from his couch and relay them to Babich
  2. Apparently Mantis frind is confessing and admitting to th hoax....
  3. Just got a chance to listen to the Emery news conference. Oh gawd does Emery go on and on about "championships" and how Marc has won many "championships." Hard to listen to. I'm not sure what to make of the Canadian influx of opinions and people.
  4. He just released a statement that it was indeed an 'online relationship."
  5. This thread is going to be infamous.
  6. Eagles may have agreed to more of his control demands when other candidates fell through. Though sanctions probably played a role. According to tweets, he never demanded control, and wasn't given control. College coaches seem to enjoy telling everyone they are staying, only to jump ship a few days later. I like this hire for the Eagles. I don't. I think Kelly is going to need at least a few drafts to get the type of players he needs for his system/scheme and even then it'll be a huge crapshoot. The Eagles really bungled their coaching search imo.
  7. yeah, and if martz wasn't a complete ass of a human being with a giant ego, he'd be a head coach today. True that. I'm not jumping to any conclusions about this hire, but I will say that the guy has a good résumé and that the new OC likely was very good at his job previously under Sean Payton and being a part of a Super Bowl coaching staff. I wanted Arians but whatever.
  8. So Hester definitely can't handle it then, and Bennett would be doubtful too? It is a very Martz-like hire to me without the stubbornness.
  9. But he likes Rivers? Apparently potential head coaching candidates were really excited about the San Diego vacancy for a chance to work with Rivers. They must not have seen Phillip the past few years or they really just want to live in San Diego. Now that McCoy has gone to another team, it's obvious he's a terrible coach and the Chargers have made a huge mistake. This made me laugh. I think Trestman is an interesting hire, but I view Arians as the safest hire followed by Bevell. Trestman has to be a huge question mark due to his history and the fact that he doesn't appear to be a very strong leader of men by all accounts. Also according to anonymous scouts on PFT (per The Score), Trestman's offense can be so complex that it'll lead to confusion with players and not fit different types of players.
  10. How much film study and game planning has this guy had against other NFL teams since 2002?
  11. This coaching search is taking way too long. I have a feeling we'll be disappointed
  12. Not sure if this was posted. Not all that surprising either. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/01/11/milton-bradley-charged-with-domestic-abuse-faces-13-years-in-jail/
  13. I wonder why Greg Roman from SF isn't getting any looks?
  14. At 20 you gotta go MLB or G/C depending on who falls. Ogletree or Te'o is a possibility.
  15. Yeah really starting to like him as a decent #3 option. Hopefully Houston, Denver and Green Bay all lose thisweek so we can get something done fast. McCoy and Dennison are my top 2. Has Clements done much of anything besides being a QB coach? He's only been OC for 1 year right?
  16. Interesting. I am all for franchises staying where they currently are and I like the Kings in Sacramento, but I like NBA basketball in Seattle more. Also would be fun to see all the Seattle fans who got burned by Bennett have to turn around and celebrate another franchise being uprooted for them. The damage is done. They'll have to watch what could've been with Durant and Westbrook for 10 more years.
  17. I see what you did there hehehehehe!!1
  18. Phil would've had enough sense to pound the ball into 1 of their 2 seven footers instead of allowing Kobe to ball chuck.
  19. It could mean lots of things, as Banedon just pointed out. I'd have no problem at all with Gruden, though. Actually he didn't point out anything. He just said he doesn't think he's the right guy, which sounds to me like some sort of gut instinct knee jerk reaction to the theory that he's a defensive minded blowhard of a coach or something. The Bears are interviewing several special teams coordinators, many coaches with no significant offensive play calling or planning history and even some defensive guys. Cowher was on board with the need for a passing offense in this league long before many other coaches wanted that. He's a legitimate head coach who we know isn't going to be overwhelmed by the job, like so many previous "hot coordinator types" have shown in the past. I understand why he may not be at the top of a list, but it's inexplicable why people flat out don't want him. David is looking to argue semantics and sidestep the topic without making much of a point. It is very meatball-ish to think Cowher does not possess the common sense to understand it is a passing league and put together a very capable offensive staff based on him calling Super Bowl caliber defenses.
  20. Bears interviewing Texans OC Rick Dennison on Friday night.
