  1. what the [expletive] is your deal? My deal is he was terrible first round pick as a DE for a 4-3 team with Chandler Jones and Mercilus still on the board. He was a clear reach and none of the scouts saw him as having elite pro bowl potential as an edge rusher in a 4-3 defense. He's undersized and out of position. I'd love to be wrong and see him develop over time into a full time starter but that's highly unlikely and would still violate Emery's mantra in 2012 of drafting 'immediate impact' players. Oh and if you wanted a LB, the top rated LB was still on the board in Hightower. The fact that there's still an active debate about moving him back as a LB and changing positions after 1 season is indicative of what a reach he was.
  2. Ok, so we still need a nickelback, 2 LBs, and at least 1 Guard with a limited amount of cap space. Hopefully some of that will be addressed via the draft, and I'm still waiting to see if they restructure Hester. He's getting paid an awful lot to just be a returner. Yeah no doubt the draft will give us some of those players, but to rely on rookies to anchor some of those spots is risky business. What sucks is the Hardin pick and E-Rod pick last year didn't shore up any of the need positions.

  4. Bears sign him to a one year deal. Bye Izzy. And McBride is not that good. McBride as backup, Mcclellan starter? Sadly I doubt Shea can be much of a starter in the NFL. Unless he develops a lot of strength and bulk, he's basically a speed rusher limited to passing downs and a 3rd DE role on the roster, which is why I have and will still criticize him being chosen in the first round.

  6. For when you have to remember why Angelo had to go. But also, after year 1 Emery has not exactly shown that he's capable of doing the opposite. Also this should be something that shuts up all the people who claim the Bears aren't good enough because ownership is cheap. This is an important draft for Emery, IMO. Definitely. I think if its similar to last years draft we're in trouble for a few years.
  7. I wouldn't mind a CB in the first 2 rounds. We gotta shed Tillman and Jennings as they get older and Tillman has a big cap hit. CB and LB are the immediate needs on the defense imo.
  8. I love Kane. Bolland had an open net and decided to go low. Bad shot.
  9. Tek mo k? DraftTek* *mock damn auto correct
  10. Latest draft tek mo k has the Bears going CB Des Trufant and LB Te'o 1 and 2.
  11. My guess is he's probably cut around year 4-5 depending on his performance. As long as he buys the Bears around 3 years I'm happy with the move. We need to be afforded more time to rebound from such shitty drafting over the last 5 years.
  12. lolllll the Pats are trippin. Yes he's younger, but more injury prone and not as proven. Shoulda just upped the 2 year deal for Welker.
  13. My problem with the poopooing is that I don't think the stats are able to show how much help Webb would receive or how many drop backs Bree's would have to allow Bushrod to single block. The Saints passed more then the Bears last season and in previous seasons.
  14. Walters take on the Bushrod signing. I don't think he watches very many Bears games.
  15. Any interest in the newly released Heyward-Bey as our #3 field stretcher?
  16. Bushrod was left solo on 80% of Drew Brees drop backs with 6 penalties in over 1100 snaps. Yea he's a definite upgrade.
  17. NFC West is getting better and better.
  18. One thing is for certain, Jay will have no excuses this year
  19. This is outstanding, now we can truly draft BPA come draft day
  20. Jake Long wouldn't preclude the Rams from drafting Cooper or Warmack. I think he was saying the Rams wouldn't be interested in Johnson and the Titans in Cooper and Warmack, increasing the odds that one of those three make it to 20. Yep.
  21. Yep Emery does use PFF. Bushrod isn't an All Pro by any means, but I want an upgrade over Webb. We won't be able to find a LT in the draft potentially better then him unless Lane Johnson drops to 20 somehow.
