  1. Back to back home runs make quite a difference. =D> :clapping:
  2. Nor would Bradley Why shouldnt Bradley? He had 2 hits yesterday, and has hit safely in 6 straight games? Bradley is starting to hit He was batting right-handed yesterday. He sucks batting left handed.
  3. Nor would Bradley Who do you replace them with...Blanco? Miles? Fontenot? Hill? Johnson?...Quite a bench we got there.
  4. Did anyone else see the fly ball the other day to shallow left where soriano almost ran into theriot after theriot called him off. Theriot ended up catching the ball (no one was on base I think) but never did they acknowledge each other after the catch. There wasn't a "my bad" or usually you see two players laugh about something like that, but in that case there was nothing. Soriano ran back to left and Theriot went back to short. I'm not trying to start anything, just took notice of that play as maybe the clubhouse isn't so together.
  5. it'd be nice if he at least yelled at Bradley and Soriano for slacking out there in the outfield. What good would result from that, do you think? ](*,) -Not going to win this argument even if i do dispute it. I'm tired of waiting around and watching Soriano swing at every pitch that comes even near him, yet he still leads the team in RBI's I believe. What a joke. It's frustrating to me too to see Soriano struggle like this. Bradley as well. But Lou pitching a fit in their face isn't likely to do anything but irritate them. If there was a quick and easy fix like that, I'd say Lou/Perry/Joshua/Trammel/somebody would have done it already. Worst part about it is that we have him for 6 more years. He's got 68 K's in 59 Games this year.

  7. it'd be nice if he at least yelled at Bradley and Soriano for slacking out there in the outfield. This is sarcasm, right? You are right. My bad. If Soriano and Bradley keep playing the way they have their bats will warm up and the Cubs will win the division and then ride their bats to the World Series.
  8. it'd be nice if he at least yelled at Bradley and Soriano for slacking out there in the outfield.
  9. Two days off and they still looked absolutely dead out there today. No emotion out there on the field. I wish they played with some giddy up. As much as the Cubs feel like this series is just another series, the Sox just seem like they want it more. Anyone know our walk to strikeout ratio for the season? It would be interesting to compare to last year.
  10. why is larry rothschild always given a free pass? Fire him too. Steve Stone is a better pitching coach then him. As he said on the radio the other day you and me can see when pitchers like Carlos Marmol fall to first base he always throws a ball. Either way this is only small potatoes to what this team needs changed.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD7571RlP2c&feature=email Trailer for new movie about the Cubs playing around Chicago this summer supposedly. Check it out.
  12. At least he can count to three.
  13. why would the astros want to trade tejeda to a team in their own division? the only team that is that stupid enough to do that is the pirates.
  14. Coming: C Paul Bako INF Aaron Miles INF Luis Rivas (minor league contract) OF Joey Gathright OF Milton Bradley OF So Taguchi (minor league contract) RHP Luis Vizciano RHP Kevin Gregg RHP Aaron Heilman LHP Mike Stanton (minor league contract) - A slew of average at best minor league prospects from trades Gone: Derosa, Wood, Cedeno, Pie, Hill, Wuertz, Blanco, Edmonds, Howry, Ward Remember when we could have sent Hill and Pie for Roberts last year, instead we got Olson, Williamson and PTBNL. How many times do I have to open up ESPN.com homepage and see more Cubs being traded for these prospects with terrible numbers? Let's hope Miles can be an adequate substitute for Derosa's versatility, Bradley doesn't get hurt, and some of our relievers like Gaudin, Cotts, and Guzman step up next year because otherwise barring a Peavy trade/addition of Nomar, Millar, or Aurilla this whole offseason has been mind boggling. I'm not reading 208 pages of thread on Peavy talks, but what's the latest? -Frustrated Cubs Fan
  15. Brian Roberts has always been Jim Hendry's favorite. Don't be surprised if its him we are trading these prospects for. Another left handed bat in the lineup that would move Soriano out of the leadoff...finally.
  16. What do the Cubs do with Lieber once he's done with all these rehab starts? Release him? Wait till September when the 40 man roster comes out or use Hart? I just don't see him as much of a help to our team anymore. I'd rather have Eyre on the team then him.
  17. literally hundreds. oh, wait, he had like a .230 slugging %? probably not very many then. my bad. 1) already been said....scroll up 2) he proably had nothing to do with the Cubs winning the division or going to the playoffs considering he was 3rd in runs on the team (80), was one of six Cubs players who had over 100 hits (143) 3) remember when Alfonso was a 40/40 guy and this year he had 19 SB's in 135 games when Theriot had 28 in 148.. oh we paid Soriano 10,000,000 in 2007 to be our "leadoff man", tell me that theriot isn't worth that cost 4) this guy shouldnt be given a chance because hes a utility player, yeah right thats what Ronny Cedeno and the guy we just traded away Omar Infante is
  18. wait what did he bat in the leadoff spot....oh yeah .300
  19. Is he worth what you are going to have to give up in return? Where would Greene fit in the lineup if he batted 5th or 6th in San Diego usually?
  20. You...do know that that's really low, right? Oh man, I missed that sentence. Fanatic, you might NOT want to mention that when you're trying to compliment Theriot. By comparison, Juan Pierre had a stellar .330 OBP in his one year in Chicago. The fact is noted and it won't be used again but just for the rest of you: Khalil Greene last year had a stellar .291 OBP last year.
  21. And I throw up thinking that Khalil Greene in a Cubs uniform will be the next Jose Hernandez with better deffense.
  22. it was his 1st full season, how can you say he is going to be a lifetime utility player after seeing him play after one season? He could turn out to be an Omar Vizquel for all I know; he doesn't strike out a lot, plays defense, has speed. By the way he had the 3rd most amount of walks on the Cubs last year to the person commenting about swinging at the first pitch
  23. Remember when everyone was on the bandwagon for Theriot? Why is everyone including managment counting him out after a poor last couple of months? It was his first complete season as a pro and prior to last year his season high AB's in the Major Leagues was 134 compared to 537 last year. The guy had a .326 OBP and stole 28 bases. How many times in games did you see Theriot jump start an inning with an extra base hit? I think the Cubs need to give Theriot another year to prove his worth and if he fails 2nd time around, he has at least been given a shot.
  24. murton can't play defense im sorry, hes not an everyday outfielder so the only way he is going to play is through a platoon, he will always be a work in progress
