  1. I completely agree that the fans were well within their rights to boo Rex like they did. I'm not expecting him to make every throw but when he sails 10 yard out pattners to wide oopen receivers it's grating. Maybe he'll hit the easy patterns this week.
  2. Am I crazy for thinking Rex might do better on the road? It really looked like he had zero confidence at Solider Field.
  3. 2nd and 1 to turnover on downs. :banghead:
  4. Nowhere near a Super Bowl team? By that I assume you mean they have little chance to make the Super Bowl (because any team that makes the Super Bowl is ostensibly 'Super Bowl caliber')? What powerhouses in the AFC do you see standing in their way? Pittsburgh is the only reasonable argument you could make for an AFC team that is superior to them. They are a very complete ball club. They have arguably the best player in football in Haynesworth, one of the best cover corners in Finnegan, a good head coach, a great offensive line, and two solid backs. Chris Johnson certainly IS an offensive playmaker.
  5. To help avoid a blowout and make the head coach look better. If you have any interest in actually winning the game it's totally indefensible. If I were a GM I would fire a head coach for that garbage decision.
  6. Dierdorf just said Rex knew there was nothing he could do about the crowd booing him. How about um, PLAYING BETTER?
  7. That was too easy.
  8. I honestly cant defend that. Way to go out on a limb.
  9. We have to at least entertain blizting him don't we?
  10. Now Maynard pures one. I despise him with an almost unspeakable hatred.
  11. I don't like Rex in a 3 step drop...he doesn't have the CPU for those quick decisions.
  12. Am I missing something? Ssaying Grossman is bad is way off base now?
  13. I have a hard time believing that Maynard is one of the top 32 people in the entire world at punting. Does he ever give us anything?
  14. Collins can still grill steaks back there.
  15. Looks like we've gotten our obligatory good Rex drive and now we're on hang on for dear life mode.
  16. I thought Texas Tech's OOC schedule was an absolute disgrace. But they've definitely passed the eyeball test for me the last couple of weeks. And if they make it through the rest of the season unbeaten they definitely deserve all the accolades they get. They are a complete ball club and they have the best player in the country (by a significant margin, IMO) in Crabtree.
  17. That was the correct call. The receiver on the top side of the formation was ineligible.
  18. If Lebron doesn't win several rings and several MVPs by the time his career has finished something has gone horribly awry. He is like Jim Brown in the way he is so athletically superior to his competition.
  19. A Cal reciever just made one of the most incredible one handed catches I've ever seen. It was like the Brandon Lloyd grab he made as a Niner.
  20. More dumb errors by Notre Dame? HOW CAN THIS BE?
  21. Les Miles, in his wildest dreams, could never do what Peterson and Mendenhall have done at Boise State or BYU. I'm a lot more confident that those coaches could replicate Miles' success at a program like LSU. They'll probably get their chance (although the circumstances won't be nearly as cushy as Miles' were where a superpower was already in place--more likely they'll have to take over a down program like Tennessee or Washington) eventually. Les Miles couldn't turn Oklahoma State into anything more than a Big XII also-ran (even with the Boone Pickens lavishing money on the program).
  22. Leach, Peterson, Mendenhall, Kelly, Beamer, Richt, Spurrier, etc.
  23. Saban turned LSU into a machine. The best I can say for Les Miles is that he didn't screw up the recruiting after Saban left. I'm not crazy about retaining Crowton as OC either--he was awful as the Bears OC and pretty bad at BYU and Oregon as well. He's like Larry Coker accept Coker seemed like a decent man and not an insufferable douche like Miles is.
  24. Yes. He's not Saban or Meyer, but he's one of the top coaches in the country. My god he's 45-7 or something at LSU. He's had a rough bump this season. Really the big screw up for them this season is lack of a good QB. The Perriloux situation really hurt them. C'mon they took a top five team to OT. theyre fine. they played well. they got outclassed by the best team in the country though, but right now florida would beat anyone like that. This is the sort of "his track record is good!" thinking that led people to believe that Dusty Baker was a good manager. I've watched a lot of LSU football and to even put this fraud in the class of Saban, Carroll, Meyer, etc. is just way off base. The guy makes boneheaded decisions like they're going out of style. He's gotten really lucky on some of them but we'll start to see some mean reversion on that (we already have). As bad as Michigan is, they should thank their lucky stars this loser didn't accept the job.
