  1. You sell out for pressure and it takes too long to get around the enormous O-Line and Bradford checks down. You play coverage and DeMarco Murray is grabbing cornerbacks by the throat and sacrificing them to the football gods 15 yards downfield. Ok, I guess it was wrong of me to suggest that opposing defenses were doing anything less than their very best work at scheming against Oklahoma. They should continue to resign themselves to Bradford completing 70% of his throws at 10.5 YPA for a 7/1 touchdown to interception ratio. You're right, defensive coordinators couldn't be doing any better a job at game planning against OU.
  2. I just don't get it. They aren't that balanced. They don't use much motion or misdirection. They put Bradford in the gun and let him throw slants and crosses. They don't even attack deep a lot. This only worked for like 10 weeks for the 2007 Patriots and they had the greatest deep threat in NFL history and arguably the best QB. Yet, Big XII defenses are somehow scheming MORE poorly against it as the season progresses. It shouldn't require Bill Belichick to figure out a way to slow this down. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at a repeat of the Jason White OU teams' bowl performances (or last years Sooners, eloel). Carroll and Saban butchered those offenses with a month to prepare.
  3. I'm fairly certain OU would get obliterated by Alabama, Florida, or USC. Surely a quality coaching staff with a month to prepare could learn how to slow down these new fangled slants and crossing routes. Clearly Big XII defenses have never seen such groundbreaking plays.
  4. their OL is ridiculous so you arent gonna get to bradford, so unless you play great pass coverage, and no one in the big 12 really does, they will move the ball all over you. It's coordinating 101. You play coverage or you sell out on pressure. You don't allow him to sit back there and pick you apart. And a lot of these receivers are breaking open early. He gets time when he needs it but he often doesn't.
  5. Oh come on. That's just pathetic.
  6. What is so exotic about OU's offense? Has any team that faces them never seen a freaking seam route, slant, or crossing route? This is a joke.
  7. I've heard from some ND friends that Weis is gone on Monday and Kelly will be announced shortly. Just rumors but I wouldn't be surprised.
  8. WOW. Dez Bryant is one impressive athlete.
  9. OU's luck in this game is like David Eckstein in the 2006 World Series, Rick Ankiel's transformation to middle of the order bat, or any of Dave Duncan's scrap-heap reclamation projects :D
  10. LOL, Charlie's lost control of this team. He's gone.
  11. Another lucky play for OU. Come on, how do you let him get in from the 1 after the ball hits the deck.
  12. I know OU's offense is awesome... ...But is it THAT hard to stop a crossing pattern?
  13. Heh, Weis might be pulling some desperate gamesmanship. Pete's still dialing up passes and Weis is kicking field goals and challenging 1 yard receptions.
  14. Gawd. It MUST be OU's year.
  15. lol, ND gets its first 1st down on the last play of the 3rd quarter.
  16. Heh, does Okie State believe OU of all teams is going to fall for a statue of liberty type play on a 2 point conversion.
  17. I know Bellotti probably isn't going anywhere but Oregon really needs to do what it takes to get Chip Kelly to stay. This offense is humming like it was last year when Dixon was running the show. Blount is just as good as Stewart. And I type this as Oregon rips off another huge play for a TD.
  18. I just don't think the impetus is there to push Tech ahead of Texas if they win the Big XII. If they had lost to OU by a touchdown then that'd be one thing. There's going to be a perception (a perception that I happen to agree with) that one of hte supposed two best teams in the country doesn't get pasted by 40 points.
  19. Oregon State and Oregon met for a Pac-10 rivalry matchup and a Big XII game broke out :D And on a completely unrelated note, Chris Duhon has 22 assists tonight.
  20. I was busy watching Oregon gash some Beaver. What happened with OU and Okie State?
  21. Lagarrette Blount is an animal.
  22. Six wns in the SEC is like 9 wins in every other conference though.
  23. I'm no offensive guru but these stats seem to be in direct contrast to Notre Dame's decided "schematic advantage."
