  1. 1st round passing talent!
  2. Well obviously Maclin and Crab (and every other WR in the draft) has a more developed game than Hester did coming out of school. But I would compare Maclin to a Desean Jackson type. He can stretch the field, be awesome in the kicking game, take the ball on reverses, and just generally make the big plays. We have that in Hester. Both would be a huge upgrade over the crap that's on the roster now but I think Crab fills a need better.
  3. I like Maclin's game but I think Crab would be a better fit for the Bears. We need a reliable chain mover and a guy that excels in the intermediate passing game. Maclin's a game breaker but we have one of those already.
  4. Bill James proposes a boycott of the BCS on Slate: http://www.slate.com/id/2208108/
  5. Mays is the fastest player on USC. Straight line speed isn't an issue. Maybe at his size you're concerned about hip flexibility and his ability to turn and run. He would be an interesting OLB prospect but I think he'll stick at safety as well.
  6. It's amazing he's still effective as he is. Every fastball he throws (85 and straight as an arrow) looks like a meatball. We'll see how he does away from Petco.
  7. I doubt Tebow's stock is going to change much in a year's time. Harvin should leave because he can't stay healthy and Spikes probably can't go anywhere but down. Noah lost millions by staying another year (although he avoided being labeled an enormous bust as opposed to just the garden variety bust he is) and both Horford and Brewer helped themselves a ton by staying.
  8. Yeah, I saw that. The receiving group, especially among underclassmen, is looking very deep IMO.
  9. Why would the Titans take a running back early? I have my doubts about Lendwhale being a hard enough worker to stick in the league as an effective big back but it worked pretty well for them this year.
  10. Empty gesture, publicity grab, etc.
  11. what you just said is pretty much the exact opposite of every NFL scouting report on Tebow If I'm understanding you correctly you're saying that NFL scouts are saying Tebow has a quick release, is accurate, but lacks arm strength. No, I doubt that's what scouts are saying at all.
  12. Florida does attack in the medium to deep range quite a bit with their passing game. It'd be a waste of Tebow's talents to put him in a Texas-style passing attack. His release is too slow for that and he's just not accurate enough. He does have good arm strength and the margin for error is a little more forgiving when can put more air under the ball.
  13. I think we can pseudo-officially put the "is Boston going to break the Bulls' wins record" talk to rest. They lost to the Bobcats tonight and have dropped 5 of 7 and are now 29-7.
  14. As far as I can tell you're annoyed with me because I had the temerity to suggest that Big XII defensive coordinators weren't very good at their jobs. Oh the horror! But maybe you have the master list of everything I've been wrong about.
  15. We're too busy discussing the latest vegan restaurant to open up in West Hollywood, protesting gay marriage bans, and doing other coastal elite type things to follow college football too closely. It's just par for the course outside of Real America. what are you talking about, im just saying that you dont know anything about football because you dont follow it outside of assuming that you've won whatever game it was you last played in look at your compadre voice of reason over there, he's even more clueless than you are, and instead of trying to argue otherwise, he just pointed out that there's more to do in california (obviously). he basically agreed with me I don't know anything about football because I don't agree with some of your preconceived notions of the game. That's really what you're getting at. And the idea of satire, hyperbole, and sarcasm seems to be completely over your head. You see, when I responded to your accusation that I don't follow the game, I came back with a satiric characterization of myself as some effete California liberal who finds football beneath him. I would admit that a lot of those "fans" exist at USC (and California in general...) but I'm not one of them. But to make the blindingly obvious even more apparent I'll just say I'm not some milquetoast fair weather fan. I've followed, played, and discussed football religiously my entire life, perhaps to a fault, and certainly do more than open the sports page (who reads newspapers in print anymore?). Apparently you think that posting on a Chicago Cubs message board about an unrelated sport doesn't seem to contradict your characterization. Edit: As for Voice of Reason--well I don't know who he is. Apparently he is an alum/fan. Good for him.
  16. Bulls up 49-42 at the half over Sacramento. Gooden's back in the lineup.

  20. McCoy says he's coming back to Pitt. I'm surprised.
  21. Speaking of stroking oneself, did we ever figure out who the outrageously hot blond they kept showing next to McCoy's parents was? She was a 10.
  22. You're going to eat those words when the Bulls leave the NBA and enter the professional indoor volleyball circuit.
  23. Yeah, Harden would be ideal next to Rose. We'll end up with Budinger or something.
  24. Is Shady McCoy in the draft for sure?
  25. I wonder where Freeman will be drafted. He has a lot of ability and was stuck in a pretty crappy situation at Kansas State. He definitely needs another year but I can see why he wanted to come out early.
