  1. Maybe it's because I don't live in Chicago but I don't hear any comparisons and I don't really anticipate any unless Denver really takes off and Chicago falters. Even then, I think the formula for Denver winning this year has been established as defense and the running game. Orton will get some credit but not enough for people to really second guess the trade.
  2. Any Bears fan that didn't realize they were winning in spite of Kyle Orton as far back as 2005 is an idiot. I'm not worried about him performing well and making the trade look bad--at all. Even if that did happen it would just reinforce the fact that we need to bring in a real offensive brain trust to work with QBs and call plays.
  3. The Chargers are no real threat without Jamal Williams for the rest of the year. It's a bigger loss than Merriman was last year (who has been totally invisible this season). Denver might win the AFC West.
  4. The game manager label is just a euphemism for a guy that sucks but is your best option. Orton was pretty error prone in Chicago, anyway. I don't know why people thought he was secure with the football. He wasn't. He's doing a good job of protecting the ball in Denver so far, though. Denver isn't going to allow less than 7 points per game all year though and people will realize Orton sucks soon enough.
  5. BIG GAME BOB
  6. It's imperative that OU remain within earshot of an opportunity to utterly embarrass itself in another BCS game.
  7. HE JUST WINS
  8. They should at least battle for a 5 seed. You've got Cleveland, Boston, and Orlando locked in for the top 3 most likely. Atlanta's probably a 4 seed although they're not going to run away from anybody. A 7-8 seed probably means another record around .500. I expect at least some improvement off of that and fighting for a 5-6 seed.
  9. I can't stop laughing at Tony Romo.
  10. Mark Sanchez: Imploding.
  11. If KC backdoors my NYG -9.5 I'm going to be annoyed.
  12. It's one bad half. It's not a top 5 unit but it'll be in the top half of the league, maybe top 10, at the end of the year. Efficiency wise it wasn't even that bad last year.
  13. At this pace Stafford is going to throw for way more yards than he ever did in any game in college.
  14. Not really, but ok. They've been average at best against Florida, BYU, and Miami and record breaking against the Big XII. They've been figured out to an extent which was inevitable. Defenses weren't always going to be perplexed by that checking with the sidelines stuff forever. But I think bowl season proved last year that a lot of the big numbers put up by the QBs in the Big XII was because of the horrendous defense that was played.
  15. OU's offense is completely ordinary when it's not feasting on garbage Big XII defenses.
  16. Did Murray cough it up?
  17. go go go OU -7.5
  18. Brad Nessler is acting like this Auburn/Tennessee match up is a bigger game between Kiffin and Chizik than the 2006 Rose Bowl was.
  19. Let's see him against a not terrible defense, first.
  20. Tate caught a pass and took it down to the 3 or so. He did a Varsity Blues style flip in the air when being tackled. It was pretty cool.
  21. This game owns.
  22. When's the last time that was called? It happens multiple times eveyr game in every level of football.
  23. LSU continues to be the luckiest [expletive] team ever.
