  1. I know nothing about soccer so maybe one of you guys can shed some light... Is there anyway Conor Casey is at an appropriate level of conditioning/weight for world class soccer?
  2. Has Toeaina even seen the field?
  3. I'm nervous about giving up more picks for a one year flier. Does getting TO significantly improve your chances of a deep playoff run? I don't think it does. The beauty of getting Cutler was that we can build for the long term and we're going to need picks and infusions of young talent.
  4. I'm actually kind of surprised that you guys felt confident in winning Game 7 after Kerry's home run. I still felt like a loss was preordained.
  5. Hmm, I hadn't considered that Cincy might make that big a move in the human polls. I suppose that's possible. I'm guessing the difference in computer rankings that Cincy and UT would get right now is as big as it's going to be at any point in the season and would only shrink from here on out.
  6. The human polls make up two thirds of the BCS though. There's no way an undefeated Cincy finishes ahead of an undefeated Texas in the BCS. As for VT, the BCS guru for ESPN actually has VT ahead of Texas in his projected BCS rankings but he says there's no way VT will stay ahead of UT if the Horns continue to win.
  7. YEAH HOOK EM WOO
  8. I don't doubt that Snead is more upset than anyone about the way he and his team have played. I'd be pretty mad if I lost millions and millions of dollars too.
  9. Did they ever break their losing streak in the green uniforms? I just remember it being pretty funny that they'd bust out the green uniforms for a big game...and then always lose.
  10. Michael Floyd could be back by November: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4556056 Two weeks too late but that'd be a big boost for ND.
  11. "Rose also has good defensive instincts on the perimeter" lol
  12. There wasn't enough contact to warrant a flag of that magnitude. I honestly think Edwards would've caught it otherwise. He still had a good shot at it. At full speed it definitely looked like PI.
  13. I thought the pass interference call was a good call. He arm barred Edwards. People should realize that things look a lot more innocuous when the only replay they show is in super slo mo.
  14. The wildcat is definitely more than a fad or just a look if you have personnel like the Dolphins. And Henne throws a very, very nice ball. It's always a tight spiral.
  15. The guy that might get in the mix is the VT running back Ryan Williams. He's a redshirt freshman so he's a long shot but he's a workhorse that can rip off the spectacular play too. If VT runs the table and continues to play well he could be invited to New York
  16. I bet if Tennessee were a top 15 type team Berry would be in serious discussion as a Heisman candidate. The level of quarterback play is just down this year overall and there are no dominant runningbacks on highly ranked teams either. Tony Pike's probably played the best but the casual fan doesn't even know who he is and even the serious fan hasn't seen him play much.
  17. Crappy throw, Tom.
  18. Brady time.
  19. You can thank Lovie for that. Orton was known in college and draft time to have a very strong arm. Then he played for Lovie who refused to allow him to throw passes over 15 yards and he gets the reputation for having a weak arm. I saw enough intermediate and downfield passes from Orton while he was in Chicago to know he's not very good at it. In fact, he sucks at it. What the f are you talking about? Did you see the play we are talking about? He said he was surprised Orton could throw it 65 yards. We are not talking about whether he can throw the deep ball well just whether or not he has a strong arm. Yeah, I saw the hail mary. I was just saying that while Orton may have a strong arm, he still sucks at throwing the ball downfield.
  20. I do like the little wrinkle on the Wildcat Denver's using where they bring Orton from the outside of the formation and motion him back under center. It's a good way to get a read on the defense.

  22. Go Yellow Jackets and Sooners next week.
  23. Josh Johnson looks like a decent QB for the Bucs.
  24. Malcolm Gladwell compares football to dogfighting: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2009/10/19/091019fa_fact_gladwell
  25. Holy crap that Zona/UW game got nutty at the end. Arizona was up 33-21 with 4 minutes left, UW drove it down to pull to 33-28 and then turned a pick 6 on the next possession into a 36-33 win.
