  1. It's a nice thought and it should remain as a wrinkle for sure. My fear is that you don't really ever want Hester thinking on the field (e.g. making a zone read). He's an all instinct type of guy.
  2. He has absolutely ZERO holes to run through. None. Give him a decent Oline and hes going to be productive, but this Oline is horrendous. Productive? Sure. Most running backs will be productive if they have consistent lanes to run through. Forte's best strength is that he can catch the ball out of the backfield but we've somewhat rightly gone away from that with Cutler in the fold. I still like him but Forte's not the kind of guy that can turn woeful run blocking into at least something semi productive. He doesn't get downhill or hit the hole hard enough for that. His vision was pretty bad tonight too. He missed some cutbacks for sure.
  3. This game sort of destroyed my confidence that Forte is more than a slightly above average NFL starting running back.
  4. Williams was pretty awful tonight.
  5. Cutler should use his legs more. I admire that he stays in the pocket and tries to gun it but he shouldn't be so trusting of his crappy offensive tackles.
  6. Forte, if you're going to be a painfully average runner you could at least hold on to the ball.
  7. You guys are totally wrong about fades, btw.
  8. There's nothing wrong with fades. You're just not going to get receivers streaking open very often close to the goal line. Now throwing it to your shortest receiver is an issue. I'd rather see Olsen out on the perimeter there.
  9. I wish we had a red zone target.
  10. Gonzalez might destroy us tonight.
  11. Hahaha Dumb comment but it doesn't mean he's never going to be a star. He held his own the first few games so the Jets let him open it up a little and it failed miserably. Rein him in and see if a more conservative gameplan will lead to more victories. Just because Matt Ryan did it last year doesn't mean that rookie QBs should be expected to be polished right off the bat. In fact its unbelievably rare that this occurs. Never said he wont ever be a star, but its a little early to be doing it already. Remember people naming Grossman the MVP of the NFL after 6 games a few years ago? There are people who still insist that Grossman isn't really that bad and just needs another chance to prove himself. What I'm getting at is that people are stupid.
  12. There's Sanchez only starting 16 games in college showing up. He was a disaster today. And the Jets receivers are just really bad as a group without Cotchery and Smith. Edwards was blanketed all day and he forced way too many balls. That game was high comedy overall though.
  13. Why would you hate primetime games?
  14. A good NFL kicker makes 44 yarders what percentage of the time? Probably at least 80. Dude's a choker.
  15. Someone needs to teach NFL coaches how to manage the clock. After the 2nd down run Harbaugh lets a good 11-12 seconds to run off before he calls timeout. If he called the timeout then they'd be on the right side of the 2 minute warning.
  16. Who's ready for a Favregasm from the Gunslinger?
  17. I heard Brandon Lang (the inspiration for Wooderson's character in 2 For the Money) saying on Friday that NYG +3 was his biggest lock in 2 seasons.
  18. go go go Chiefs
  19. The bottom of the NFL is so bad this year that it's becoming necessary to treat them almost like 1AA opponents in college football. You really can't draw any conclusions from those games.
  20. Why do the Ravens even bother with McGahee? He's a corpse.
  21. They're right back in this if they can force a couple stops.
  22. 4 possessions, 4 touchdowns for New Orleans. This one was aided by a huge, BS PI call but still. The vaunted Giants defense is scrambling after playing the abortions known as Oakland, KC, and Tampa the last few weeks.
  23. These two "great" early games suck. What happened to the Giants defense? Christ.
