  1. Hahahahah. You're priceless man. The Hawks and their temerity to lose a game in the playoffs after winning 7 straight. WHERE'S THE JUSTICE
  2. Maybe they will. There's going to be a [expletive] storm for the next week or so. I highly doubt it though. It's an open and shut case, IMO, though. Give him the perfecto and make sure everyone who tries to use this to protest the end of normal games is rightly labeled as a huge douche.
  3. Who's going to be the first wiener that comes in here and says MLB shouldn't reverse the call?
  4. I think MLB has to reverse the umps decision. The runner is clearly out. Leyland and whoever needs to fly to major league baseball and demand they reverse the call and give Armondo the much earned perfect game. They won't. They should. But they're scared of setting a precedent.
  5. No [expletive]? I was going to make fun of you but quickly realized I'm jealous. I was in a league with all hipsters (nothing against you if you are a hipster) and none of them could catch or field and couldnt kick the ball out of the infield You try playing kickball ironically and see how well you do.
  6. I'm pretty sure King is senile enough to think that since MJ owns a team it must be the Bulls and James didn't want to correct a confused old man.
  7. Oh yeah? I heard he said the Cavs have an edge...what got you excited? He said something about how he was flattered Mike Bloomberg wanted him to come to NYC but was humbled when Obama pitched Chicago. Probably meaningless but exciting nonetheless.
  8. I just read some of the transcript of the LBJ/Larry King interview on RealGM-getting irrationally excited again
  9. Somehow I doubt there are many diehards out there rocking a Brent Sopel jersey.
  10. But what are those resource advantages? When I was growing up Illinois was definitely an after thought for football players. If that's all you could get, you'd go, but there were bigger and better options in and out of the Big Ten. Their stadium sucks. They hold no national cache. And they even occasionally take the back seat to their little brother in Evanston. Illinois is in a tough spot. If they could find the next up and coming genius, that guy isn't staying there very long unless he's an Illini diehard. They need a recruiter to attract talent, as the school can't attract it on it's own. Big state, good conference, good media market, always on TV. The stature of Illinois isn't what it should be precisely because they haven't made the right hires. If they find the next up and coming genius he'll leave the program in better shape moving forward and the job will be more attractive. Zook is just going to leave a mess for the next middling retread to fail at fixing. There's no reason, other than stupidity, that a school like Cincinnati--which is undoubtedly a less name program than UI-- can hire someone like Brian Kelly while Illinois ends up with Zook.
  11. I can't believe that Ron Zook is the best Illinois can get and if that's the mentality of the alumni and fan base then they deserve what they get. There's gotta be a multitude of up and comers that would love to coach a program with Illinois' resources.
  12. On balance, any season that solidifies Zook as head coach is a long term negative.
  13. It's looking increasingly likely that the only "black mark" on Federer's career will be that he has never beaten Nadal at the French Open.
  14. So Carcillo goes from not dressing to playing on the top line? I don't get this sport.
  15. http://www.obsessedwithsports.com/2010/05/31/la-times-makes-paul-pierce-stabbing-joke/ I laughed a little--mainly because the idea that this came from a columnist for a major American newspaper.
  16. I hate Kobe but patting Alvin Gentry on the butt after burying that dagger was pretty cool.
  17. Wouldn't just about any sports bar be able to put this on? It's on NBC. My guide says it's on Versus. It is on NBC?
  18. The NHL put the kibosh on my deal. Now I'm gonna put the kibosh on you. You know I've kiboshed before and I will kibosh again.
  19. My recollection is that the Bulls were only really competing with Orlando for free agents and they ended up getting Hill and McGrady. The Magic were better but I'm not sure how eager they were to go play with Darrell Armstrong and Tariq Abdul Wahad (and a young Ben Wallace but no one knew how good he would be then). I just remember everyone talking about how no one would want to go play for Jerry Krause after he broke up the dynasty.
  20. Wade is just blurting out things he heard. I don't think it'll matter one way or another. He probably remembers Chicago going after TMac and Grant Hill and all those guys after 2000 and being shut out because of the league view of Jerry Krause.
  21. You could get on him for not putting a body on Artest but that's a shot that came up 3 feet short. That was sickening. All he has to do is get in front of him a little. I understand the offense often gets the ball back on an airball but your season is on the line. If he delays him by two tenths of a second the game goes to OT.
