  1. I don't really see anything here that should be that difficult to overcome in time for the 2011 season.
  2. Robben got hurt in Holland's friendly against Hungary. Bloops.
  3. Looks like the Bulls are closing in on Thibodeau. The Hornets are no longer in play for him. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/knicks/2010/06/thibodeau-nears-deal-to-take-o.html#ixzz0pwfRMq6h
  4. It's not that he's playing poorly by his standards as much as that he's botching the simple play. He was flubbing the puck like crazy. Like I said, a Canadian playing in an American city for the Stanley Cup shouldn't be feeling that much pressure compared to what a Canadian would feel playing for Olympic gold IN Canada but it sure looks that way right now. But then he had guys like Crosby and Luongo getting the spotlight and now he's the man.
  5. I won't be wrong. I wasn't wrong tonight, was I? 1-for-1 in being right. I'll be right two more times and while you are feeling horrible that the Blackhawks lost, I'll be feeling horrible but also knowing that I was right. Is that better? Well, not really. That's where it sort of breaks down... If you, or anyone else, took this sort of mentality about a World Series between two random non-Cub teams all the stat geeks here would rightly be jumping down your throats about sample size and other stuff. This isn't so different then that.
  6. I do agree with you Kyle that Toews looks to be choking. Even when we were getting all that pressure near the end he kept flubbing the puck. How many passes did he botch in the neutral zone?
  7. Or you could be wrong. Either way, it won't prove anything.
  8. Don't ruin the narrative that the Hawks are hopelessly over matched and can't possibly win another game.
  9. Then you would be the type of betting man that Vegas loves. If you think the Flyers deserve prohibitive favorite type odds you are high off your ass. Vegas doesn't care, they make money no matter who bets on what. The spreads are insane. But yeah, Flyers win this series with little doubt.q Vegas loses/wins inordinate sums of money on botched odds all of the time. If some momentum betters want to push the odds way out of wack on the Flyers they'll let 'em. It won't happen though.

  11. Can't believe we even got that much sustained pressure with Toews biffing pucks all over the place. And Keith singlehandedly destroyed the last minute of our power play AND the empty net situation.
  12. I can't believe Toews would choke after playing so well in the Olympics. This pressure has nothing on that, you would think. Of course he was less in the spotlight in Vancouver.
  13. Madden's been good relative to his age and ability level.
  14. One lucky bounce or goal early and I'd love to see the Flyers sphincters tighten up for the remainder.
  15. Toews doesn't even look like he wants the puck. On that mini break Kane had I thought he could've carried it and set up a better chance.
  16. This is the 63rd sports season I've watched. I don't know why it would end differently than the other 62, watching someone else's fans celebrating. (This is the perfect attitude, because if they win I get all the joy, and when they lose at least I get to be right). You can't equally weight a team that is tied 2-2 in the championship final with the vast majority of those other 62. This isn't nearly as bad as Rex going into full [expletive] mode in the Super Bowl either.
  17. Scoreboard. And an even bigger scoreboard for where we'll be after game 6. Histrionic woe is me BS. The Hawks are up on the scoreboard that matters and they won't be down no matter what happens tonight. I'll be around a week from now to continue this conversation. Hope to see you then and I'll post some nice pictures of Pronger lifting the Cup. It's not that I think the Hawks can't lose, it's the notion that the series is over that is totally irrational. I mean really, you think this is in the same universe as the 8th inning of game 6 and beyond of the 2003 NLCS (yet)? Step back from the ledge.

  19. I'm sure the Cubs syndrome is relevant to a bunch of Canadians and Europeans.
  20. The first one was pretty bad. What is he supposed to do on the other two? He hasn't made any superhuman saves this game though.
  21. The Cubs didn't blow a 2-0 series lead and the Bulls blew a 2-0 lead to the Wizards in a first round series. Not exactly Shakespearean tragedy.
  22. You can't trust those silent H types.
  23. Is it just me or is Hossa just way better than everyone else on the team right now? We can't put anything away.
