  1. Yes. The difference between Wade and Lebron is not that great and Wade has the Finals MVP already in the bag.
  2. Yeah I know I'm playing arm chair psychologist here but I think it matters to these guys. But there is a novelty to putting Lebron and Wade together that no other team can match so who knows.
  3. From a basketball standpoint Miami makes as much sense as Chicago for Lebron and Bosh to team up. Maybe even more if you think Wade and Lebron will really coexist well together. The difference is if Lebron signs here there's no question who is the alpha dog on the team. That's not the case if he went to Miami.
  4. Wasn't there some ridiculous offseason when Manny, ARod, and Mike Hampton (lol) signed the 3 largest contracts in sports history within a few weeks of each other?
  5. Now that I've had time to stew...that -500 line has to mean something right? But are big insiders going to make a huge bet on this through an online book?
  6. Lebron + Boozer/Amare/Lee is still an overwhelming favorite to win the East, IMO. Maybe if Miami got Bosh and some other pieces but they would be very thin otherwise.
  7. The free agency sports futures betting market is big enough where only insiders can cause dramatic price shifts?
  8. If you think I'm getting carried away just wait until if it actually happens and the "can this team break the 1996 Bulls win records" hype goes through the roof. Remember when the Lakers signed old ass Malone and Payton to join Shaq and Kobe and there was all that greatest team ever talk surrounding them? That's exactly what would happen here except the entire core would be in their physical primes.
  9. I've been following this so closely for a few weeks now that I want to follow them no matter what. But I say that every offseason and then I realize in the fall that I have to actually watch basketball games to be a Bulls fan. Hopefully this fall Bulls basketball will be fun to watch. If the rumors are true...they'll be VERY fun to watch. Rose/LeBron/Deng/Bosh/Noah is as good a starting 5 (probably better) than any in the NBA. If they could actually make the Deng for Pietrus/Gortat swap and add a little depth to the team, that would be even better. I'd love to see them find a shooter to add to the bench or starting two guard with the mid-level. But even without that, they'd have to be in the conversation for the very elite teams in the NBA. That's one of the best starting 5s in league history, let alone now. I would make a 70 win season a goal with that lineup.
  10. It's a lot easier for me to watch .500 basketball than .500 (or worse) baseball. Plus Rose is just a good watch. But yeah I'm ready for the Bulls just to kick everyone's ass again. The sort of ass kicking where a regular season loss ruins my day ala 1996.
  11. Any team would be rightfully pissed for that nonsense.
  12. Yes, with the caveat that Lebron doesn't go to Miami. Adding Lebron and Bosh and you seriously start to entertain breaking the 96 Bulls all time win record and establishing a dynasty but Johnson/Bosh can definitely contend for awhile.
  13. I'm enjoying Chris Broussard clowning the Knicks every chance he gets.
  14. If I didn't know better I think Lebron and his team without s it, just eliminated the Knicks. And if the Knicks can't sell the idea of New York on Lebron then they truly are no better then the Warriors or Pacers or even Minnesta. Yeah that's what I'm thinking.
  15. PTI and Sportscenter have had like 3 different segments pimping LBJ and others to the Bulls in the last hour. There's also some free agency special on at the top of the hour where I'm sure all of that will be repeated.
  16. That's not entirely inaccurate. You didn't HEAR much about him womanizing. You hear a lot more about it now than when he was playing.
  17. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5329335 No elaborate Lebron free agency tour in the offing.
  18. Correct me if I'm off here, but doesn't Bosh provide an outside game that could help free driving lanes for both Rose and LeBron? Given that Noah's man will sag off him, I think it's important to have a 4 that can shoot. I just looked up some of the data and Boozer, Lee, Amare, and Bosh can all spot up. In fact Boozer shoots a slightly higher percentage than the others on perimeter shots while Amare is the best finisher at the rim. Bosh basically can do all those things well and you've got to like his potential length alongside Noah. I think he has more defensive potential than the others (Boozer/Lee are crap and Amare just doesn't care)...Bosh has never played on a good defensive team, really, but he's never had a dedicated big who will help him guard the rim like Noah. But any good offensive power forward is going to be a good shooter in spot up and pick and roll situations.
  19. My understanding is that the Gortat/Pietrus deal doesn't save any money for us. It'd clear up a potential log jam at SF if Lebron signs here though. I was talking about clearing the decks totally to be able to sign Bosh as opposed to keeping some pieces and getting a Lee/Boozer type on a smaller deal (to go with another max/near-max FA).
  20. I'd almost rather sign David Lee or Boozer (if you can save some real money), keep Johnson and Gibson as bench pieces, keep Deng as a sixth man, and maybe retain a pick or two to fill out the roster than S&T for Bosh.
  21. Johnson's cap number is only $1.7 million. After cap holds you're still short, no? WF22 get in here 8-)
  22. Yeah, but it wouldn't be very hard to work out a sign and trade to make up the difference. For instance, Toronto wants a sign and trade for Bosh, it wouldn't be difficult to offer preferably James Johnson but if not Taj Gibson and a 1st round pick as their compensation for helping us sign Bosh at full max value. Prior to yesterday's trade, we'd have had to beg them or a 3rd team to take Deng or Hinrich, which wouldn't make any sense for Toronto. Also, between now and July 8th, we could probably find a taker for James Johnson. I still think we're short dollars wise in that scenario. Any first round pick we trade isn't going to help our cap number and Gibson/Johnson don't make enough. I don't think even Gibson AND Johnson make enough.
  23. I don't think so either. It's just that the trade isn't going down immediately and the idea of trading Hinrich and dumping his entire salary sounds too good to be true so I'm going to go in sulley mode on this one.
  24. The PG class outside of Wall stinks. The rest of the best are combo guards like Bradley and Bledsoe. Grievies Vasquez is probably the best on the board.
  25. But it's Tom Cruise at his Jerry Maguire best!!
