Ok, so we're back to our original point about how it's dumb to declare X a terrible quarterback in their first couple seasons when they're winning games and improving (which Sanchez did and Tebow appears to be doing).
Because it's so rare for young QB's to have good seasons in their first couple years in the league. Matt Ryan has been better all four years than Sanchez is this year. Flacco's first three years were all better and they're pretty even this year. Josh Freeman put up a 95.8 QB rating last year, though he's dropped off this year. Stafford has a 90.7 QB rating this year (his third in the league). Dalton and Newton are about equal with Sanchez but are both rookies. Obviously not every quarterback is going to step right into the league and be successful but that holds true for every position. Sanchez has a career 55% completion percentage and 44 TDs to 44 INTs. This year he's at 56.3 and 18:11. He's not good either. No one says Sanchez is better than Ryan or Flacco. Those other QBs you mentioned are fine and are having their ups and downs. They also played a LOT more college ball than Sanchez did.
What did you think of Mark Sanchez the last two years? On a largely successful developmental path for a young quarterback. Kind of like Tebow. That 56.3% completion percentage (28th in the league) sure is largely successful. Same thing for that 80.9 QB rating (19th). The problem with this new passing era of the NFL is that expectations have gotten out of wack. It's absurd to think these guys coming into the league should be completed products in the first few seasons.
Maybe it was the crappy stream I was watching but when Hanie had time to set his feet and survey he looked ok. The pocket was collapsing immediately and from all angles regularly.
Yes, by the NCAA. That's my whole point. The NCAA sets up its plantation system and then rakes money in hand over fist and then programs the yokels to complain about John Calipari while they hide behind phony platitudes like the "student-athlete" and "amateurism." It's a beautiful scheme, really.
Two previous stops and Cal cheated like hell, now he's at the biggest dirty school. You bury your head in the sand if you want. Cheating according to the NCAA principles of sham amateurism, yes.
Keep carryin' that water for the NCAA. The more Joe Fan complains about micro issues like Kentucky the easier it is for them to get away with their fraudulent cartel.
