  1. No complaints here. Hoped for a pitcher, but this could have obviously been much worse.
  2. At least all the guys that I'd have been ecstatic over are gone. Please at least take someone who's considered a 1st rounder. Is that really too much to ask? I'm sure it will be.
  3. I think Lindor goes before we pick somehow.
  4. I'm not going to get excited. And what sucks is it's likely we'll have someone available that WOULD excite us.
  5. Rendon and Bubba at 5 and 6 in some order.
  6. I'm going to be Randy Quaid in Major League 2, I'm afraid........Doesn't matter, we'll blow it anyway.
  7. 11) Some other dude not in the top 200 of BA
  8. I didn't think it really even needed to be said, but considering how Simpson hasn't exactly lit the world on fire(and I don't care as to why honestly) one would have thought that this pick, in a loaded draft, would have been a "by the book" type of pick. Not to mention the fact that we suck complete ass on the major league level and any astute fan will see this and see little hope for the future as well.
  9. Wait, the Cubs were the ones who told on him? Is that true? The stupidity reaches a new level, just when I didn't think it could go any further.
  10. Just take someone who's ranked in the top 50. :banghead: My God, what a bunch of BS to even have to be thinking like this.......
  11. The dude on PSD who evidently has sources just said "I'll be shocked if we don't make a shocking pick" basically. It's almost got me wanting to not watch this crap.
  12. Damnit, just the first of a string of tweets by hyim that winds up with MLB saying they can't prove he's NOT eligible. :banghead:
  13. Goldstein just tweeted that this guy IS NOT draft eligible. Please God, let this be true.
  14. If we go out of left field with this pick, I wish Ricketts would literally fire Wilken and Hendry on the spot and I'd be OK with about 10 guys here at NSBB to make the rest of the picks.
  15. If I said anything bad about Mahtook, Baez, Springer or anyone else, I take it back. Please, for the love of God, don't draft some freaking guy NO ONE has even heard at 9. :banghead:
  16. If Lindor does wind up going 2nd somehow, I fully expect Baltimore would take Rendon at 4. I don't see Washington having their choice of Rendon or Starling.
  17. Why Lindor to KC? I thought they were in on Bauer. Speaking of, that's my nightmare scenario. 1.) Cole 2.) Rendon 3.) Bundy 4.) A. Bradley 5.) Bauer 6.) Starling 7.) Hultzen 8.) Gray Something tells me that if the draft has gone like this, Wilken will have a surprise for us. If that goes down, I'd probably be happiest with Jed Bradley, Norris or Guerrieri, but would be OK with Springer, Barnes, or even Lindor(I guess)
  18. Why Lindor to KC? I thought they were in on Bauer. They are on Bauer per everything I have read. Yeah, I've heard that too, but I've also heard Lindor to the D-Backs at 7 possibly. I was thinking Lindor to KC because the rest of the infield seems to be set with Hosmer/Colon/Moustakas. That said, just swap those 2 picks around and there's still a shot Hultzen falls......
  19. Personally, I think it's his way of trying to set himself up with wherever he truly wants to go. Maybe Boston? Just guessing, but they have multiple picks and no limitations whatsoever with what they spend....... On another note, if Arizona takes Bundy, I just read that Baltimore is in on Bradley(Archie). If they take him, things could get weird. I still think Seattle takes Rendon myself, so if that's the top 4, let's say KC takes Lindor, Washington takes Bubba(which seems almost a lock at this point) leaving Arizona with their choice of Hultzen or Bauer. If they take Bauer, I doubt the Indians take Hultzen. Assuming they don't, in this scenario, is he a lock for the Cubs? I think his pricetag could play into things some, but he's probably a solid bet to be in the major league rotation by mid 2012 and I don't see why he's labeled as a potential "2". Why is he not a future "ace"? If he's there, I'd certainly hope we take him. And go ahead and give him a major league deal, to cut down some of the immediate bonus.
  20. Exactly. Wood as a Cub is a good thing, especially with the discount involved. Plus, with his history and all, I'm hoping he's a positive influence on Cashner.
  21. Kyle Winkler, a RHP out of TCU, who could have snuck into the supplemental round and at worst was a very solid early second day pick, left his game today holding his elbow, taking himself out in the 1st.
  22. Wood left some serious money on the table to come back here. He's probably here to stay(and I mean longer than just this year). If he asks to be dealt, that's one thing, but I wouldn't even broach the subject with him. If he brings it up, fine, if not, leave it alone. You could run the risk of pissing him off and the probable discount he'd continue to give us would probably be gone.
  23. I'd definitely trade Soto and Marmol if the deal looked good enough.
