    Gretzky had strong ties to one owner who was arrested for financial shenanigans, had some sort of financial issues with the Coyotes and is dealing with a wife who has been tied to illegal gambling. So they are probably looking for all they can get. Damn.

    I think Baez is probably a slot guy, but Vogelbach seems like he's wanting a good amount(double slot or so) DeVoss probably is a slot guy and I could see Zych wanting more. Scott, as a 5th rounder with projection, probably will want more too.

    There has to be something, but I still want the Cubs to take the chance. Because there's no compensation for unsigned picks after the 3rd round, I think most teams feel safer going with relatively more signable guys in the early rounds after the 3rd. The logic being that you'd hate to blow, say, a 4th rounder on a tough sign when there's still good talent out there you're more likely to sign. You think they drop outside the top 10 rounds now? It's really just a game of chicken among the teams that are willing to spend at this point isn't it? Yeah, i guess so. I'd love to see how teams have their boards set up. Probably teams have lots of guys they just take completely off their lists. As far as the big spending teams, Pittsburgh has taken guys that are going to cost a ton, so has Washington and Toronto. Detroit has not done that so far, neither have the Yanks. Colorado hasn't either, but Boston has, of course. I can't think of any others though, who else typically spends big?

    Dunston Jr is still out there too, he'd be a nice guy to take this late.

    Well, that's better than I was thinking anyway. Wilken didn't go all Hunter Ackerman on us inside the top 5 rounds this year anyway.

    I have an odd feeling that we may take a college guy that could move fast, akin to the Rusin pick. I'm hoping for more upside though. I expect a Burch Smith type guy honestly.

    I wouldn't mind seeing us take Phillip Evans or Christian Lopes in the 4th, if we wind up taking hitting again. Fisher would be my top choice though hitting-wise. Pitching-wise, I'm not mentioning the one guy, so not to jinx it.
