    Like Raisin said, DePaula is their version of Paniagua. Difference being that their version is over here and dominating now. He's getting rave reviews and is extremely likely to be a top 100 prospect now. They could move him to AA at some point this season and he could contribute in 2014. They're not as good as their record, in my opinion and it wouldn't surprise me if they stand pat at the deadline. He's just about their only healthy true pitching prospect too, my guess is he's not going anywhere. May have a better shot at prying away Gary Sanchez from them for Garza, in my opinion. If they make a big move.

    It's correct. Although some may have not signed officially, thru Twitter or news articles, they've made their intentions known.

    He was an IFA. Can't remember, but think he signed for under or right at 100k. Definitely wasn't a major bonus guy though.

    So what's his ceiling? How excited should I be on him? Still haven't heard much on his defense this year, but I'd say best case is a Jimmy Rollins type career. His best value to us is either at 2B or a very key part of a pretty major trade. A trade of him and Vogelbach, two guys blocked at our major league level, is starting to look like it'd bring us an excellent return.

    The toughest signs outside the top 10 will be/were 12th founder Trevor Clifton, 24th rounder Tyler Alamo, 25th rounder Marcus Doi and any of the HS or JC guys in the 30s, including 37th rounder Jeremy Martinez. How significant is Alamo, do you think? Seemed like the scouting reports said he was big so he might have power, but other than size they didn't sound that positive to me. I wonder how much overslot he cost? I'll be surprised if he cost more than $250, but I'm just guessing. Were there any rumors on that? Pretty sure Law mentioned he'd be a tough sign. My guess is 400k. Guess we'll find out at some point.

    This is where you kind of use BA as a barometer. They had Masek at 49, Skulina at 73, Zastryzny at 76, Clifton at 148, Frazier at 160, Garner at 248, Wilson at 388, and Godley at 487. Guys outside our top 10 rounders, other than Clifton- Wagner at 192 and Poncedeleon at 322. Zack Brown, who's not signing, is at 385.

    Not really the FO's style, but I could see Bryant skip KC this year and start nwxt year in AA, assuming he looks OK in Daytona. I figure he's earmarked for the AFL too.

    Twitter stalking Zack Brown, not sure he's signed. He mentioned something today about wanting a guy to follow him to Kentucky, because he loves throwing to him.

    Tyler Alamo has updated his Twitter profile to "catcher in the Chicago Cubs organization" with a Cubs logo as his profile pic. Awesome. By the way, said it last year and I'll say it again.....Yagyu, at PSD, is the man. He tracks down all the signings. If I mention a signing on here, its because he's tracked it down. We've gotten others in the fold too already, just don't remember who all else. I know he reads over here on occasion, so START POSTING. Again, your work is greatly appreciated.

    Been on a plane most of the day, love the Clifton signing. Pretty sure Law mentioned Alamo would be tough to sign. Him or Martinez would be excellent, but I don't expect it. Wagner is a nice pick, figure we get him in. All in all, solid draft. Strategy appeared sound as well.

    Looking over the picks individually, unless Bryant is taking quite a bit under slot, I'm not seeing us have enough money to go get a bigtime over slot that is still on the board. Maybe Nick Eicholtz is a possibility, but I'm not seeing enough perceived money available to sign a mill+ type.

    The Astros took Austin Nicely in the 10th. He's definitely a tough sign, committed to UVA. They also took a HS C earlier in the day(Jake Nottingham) that could require some above slot money. This means they expect to sign Appel under slot or else they wouldn't have spent those picks that way. To me, thats a good sign that we'll be able to spend some extra money as well and I'm not sure we've taken anyone else thats going to need above slot to sign. Maybe Masek, but its also possible that Zastryzny or the BYU guy come in under slot. Kiley still says we're connected to Eicholtz, said he didn't know if we'd have enough money to make a run at any of Jones, Serrano, Sheffield, or Whitson or not.

    He is black. Without knowing anything whatsoever about the kid, I guess its possible he's related to Ellis Burks. No clue of any ties Ellis has to Texas, other than going to college in the state.

    I'm pretty shocked we've taken no HS guys at all.

    Hated seeing Dustin Driver go to the A's. Casey Shane went a round or two ago as well. This is where we skimped (8-10) last year. Be interesting to see what we do now.

    It's at least doubtful that Bryant signs that quickly. It's probable he signs much closer or even on July 12th([expletive] you Boras). My guess is he'd get a few games in Arizona, a few more in Boise, then hit KC in August. Possibly with a very late promotion to Daytona. Also possible they let him bypass KC and just get 50 games or so in at Daytona. Could also see him in the AFL this year.

    Like the pick. It seems like this may be a draft we wind up with some solid bullpen arms. I guess we'll start all of them out in rotations though? I hope ABTY is right and we aren't punting these next few picks. But I am still hopeful of an impact type in the 11th.
