  1. "When he had those AIDS" on Magic.
  2. He's saying Clipper players still love him. Said that they likely followed one player. He also asked Cooper if he has ever liked a girl enough to do stupid things.
  3. Donald Sterling is on Anderson Cooper. Just said Cooper is more of a racist than he is. He's attempting to play up the jealousy angle and that he's old and doesn't know what he's saying. But also saying its being taken out of context. He's about to talk about Magic and how he's not a role model.
  4. God, this [expletive] sucks. It happened to a player on a Jeff Loria owned team. It's glorious. Can't argue it from that perspective.
  5. There's no totally correct answer. However, most of this general grouping of pitchers(last 5-10 years) have grown up playing baseball all year. Add in that even now there's not a true uniform way to coach these kids(no breaking balls til a certain age, pitch counts, etc) and we're seeing the destruction before our eyes.
  6. Same here. But there's not.
  7. God, this [expletive] sucks. Still want to draft a pitcher? Yes. Yeah, I still do too. While drafting quantity will eventually work, it takes a long time to produce a TOR type that way, unless you get really lucky.
  8. God, this [expletive] sucks.
  9. Emery has certainly been active in FA and has said we'll continue to be. We'll address backup TE and anything else we see as an actual need at that point after the June 1st cuts.
  10. Unless I missed it, there's nothing on Jimenez. But it sounded to me like Erling Moreno is also starting in Arizona, which is cool. However, it also looks like we gave some Gutierrez kid 185k to be a 17 year old SS, while in reality, we gave it to a 23 year old SS.
  11. It's not something to ignore, but you're overstating things a bit. Of the top 10 FA contracts from last season, guys signed with Seattle, Minnesota, Milwaukee, Baltimore, and the Mets. Only Cano was elite and comparable to Scherzer, in my eyes. And Seattle appeared to have outbid everyone by 50 mill or more. The rest of the guys basically signed Edwin Jackson type deals. I'm confident we can land THAT caliber of FA. We need to be further along to land the elite guys.
  12. We're stuck in perennial hell. If the offers are close or the same, why would Scherzer pick a non contender? Because Javy(if he figures out AAA) and KB are still both going to be in the minors or have such a small sample size, that they aren't going to be able to be counted on. Our only way, in my opinion, to get a Scherzer next offseason is to strike early on a Markakis type AND make a trade that nets us a very solid major league piece as well. To "prove" that we're going to become much more active. Even then, we have to wade through the total aversion to NTC's, that can cause a serious discrepancy that needs to be addressed.
  13. We all did man.
  14. It sure does sound like 2019 now, and it's going to drive me bat [expletive] crazy waiting that long to behave like a big market team. I would wait until we hear about this slate of WGN games before coming to that conclusion. I still think the big Fox deal with the local bridge makes the most sense. The fact that we haven't heard a word about it in the past 4 months is mildly disconcerting We don't even have the radio deal in place that was supposed to be announced prior to Opening Day. The large Fox deal? The conjuring of an active imagination from someone who hasn't been right nearly enough to take seriously at this point.
  15. I've seen various names attached and supposedly signed. Biggs mentioned he thought we only had room for 9 signings and I saw that many names attached to us. Jones is excellent and I'm happy to get him. But I don't think we're going to see Lyerla or Roberson.
  16. That's a good get.
  17. This line is going to regress in a hurry. Next season emery will have to find a new need to obsess over. I don't see the line as regressing more so than most of our roster. It has plenty of youth on it, with Emery committing plenty of resources to it since he's been here. Garza is the next out, but we hopefully have an experienced vet waiting in the wings in de la Puenta. Bushrod could decline, or Mills or Long could fail to progress, but NFL rosters are always in a constant state of decline. You make it sound like a bad thing that Emery has each season consistently addressed the biggest needs, and really I think has done so in a way to hedge both short term improvement and long term stability. I do not think you can have long term success by obsessing over need in the draft, doubling and tripling up at positions of need, drafting punters, and otherwise not taking advantage of value in drafts. So, are you saying we should have spent an early round pick on the O-Line?
  18. Quarles and Bailey are already off the board. Forgot how quickly this goes down.
  19. 5th-6th round value, can evidently play multiple spots on the line. I like it. Emery certainly loves his versatility.
  20. Love the Fuller, Sutton, and Vereen picks. Like Ferguson and Carey somewhat. Have no issue at all with Fales. I'm not going to bash the draft based on drafting a 6th round punter. We addressed needs and filled in backup holes as well. Worst grade I'll give is a B-, likely a straight B.
  21. O'Donnell did average 47.1 yards per punt, 2nd in the NCAA. Seems like a cap meditated pick to me. As you're saving a mill or two of space, if you're signing a good vet. But I'm not sure, it seems like there'd be a ton of relatively adequate guys out there without jobs. Maybe they think this guy is a stud.....
  22. [expletive], Exum gone too. We're up though.
  23. As is Mettenberger. I think taking Sam would all but cement us being on Hard Knocks. And if Emery is pretty adamant about NOT wanting to be on it, maybe Sam isn't an option for us?
