  1. California League and same age as Bryant is in AA.
  2. I would be thrilled with any 2 of Gausman/Bundy/Harvey and would be OK with one of them, Rodriguez, and Britton.
  3. Hunter Harvey, plz. Eduardo Rodriguez has started slowly in AA, by the way. But just came off the DL with a knee sprain. Bundy is throwing 50 pitch stints, including breaking balls, so he's about ready to face live hitting. Gausman has looked good in AAA. All in all, they fit our need for pitching better than anyone.
  4. Law mentioned Jack Flaberty as a guy we'd like to overslot in the 2nd. He's a SS/3B but also throws an easy 93 with plenty of projection left. We're looking at him as a pitcher.
  5. Law does mocks the same way Callis does, only placing players with teams that are interested. He's not a guy that just pulls [expletive] out of thin air.
  6. 2 BB's and a K for KB so far.
  7. I hate saying it, but I doubt we can get Stanton without one of Javy or KB.
  8. I think there's a middle ground here. Same here. Not the end all, be all. But I do think it matters. I guess I've done a 180 here. I wanted Shark dealt over the offseason, maybe even as far back as the prior deadline. But there's just SOOOOO few guys out there.....The return had better be epic, if he's dealt.
  9. Born: November 1, 1988 in Itami, Hyogo, Japan (Age 25.206) Born: January 23, 1985 in Merrillville, IN (Age 29.123) 1213 professional innings in Japan for Tanaka 1042 professional innings for Shark Why wouldn't that matter to you? His arm has basically the same mileage.
  10. I know it's being discussed in the gam thread, but I think Shark can be convinced to stay once he sees Javy and KB producing in the majors. That's one hell of a risk to take. And I don't think we're willing to pay him what he'd get on the open market which is what you'd have to do to sign him next summer or later If we were willing to give Tanaka 6/120, surely we'd give it to Shark, if he pitched like an ace all year.
  11. I know it's being discussed in the gam thread, but I think Shark can be convinced to stay once he sees Javy and KB producing in the majors.
  12. 2 great defensive plays by Javy, followed by back to back doubles from Alcantara and Javy, who just missed a HR.
  13. You guys do know Manny is done as a player right? He's put up around a .700 OPS in the PCL the last two years.
  14. Probably still want Kalish to play full time, versus not giving a [expletive] about Coghlan.
  15. Was my favorite show ever, even with the ending being awful, until Thrones.
  16. No way; think of all the spare change he has laying around. That should be incentive enough for Ricketts to bring him back. That's what Hammel is here for. He's getting dealt for 3 years of fully stocked sodas for the players.
  17. I know we're frustrated. Desperation has crept in. But is there even a single study out there that shows a positive effect on a baseball team, by introducing the [expletive] Sumo culture? I question the bat speed needed and while obvious, I guess it needs to be said- They'll clog up the base paths if by some chance they ever get on. Sammy the sofa needs to be introduced as some other type of furniture altogether, in my opinion.
  18. Class and taste aren't gonna help Javy lay off the sliders down and away. It still hints at him being a couch that's got me-me written on all the under cushions.
  19. Look, I've had it. If Sammy wants to be a [expletive] couch, instead of a Cub, he can be a [expletive] couch. He's a grown [expletive] man and capable of making that decision on his own. Hell, maybe he'll even surprise us and be a sectional, WITH a Cubs logo. Win-win, folks.
  20. With Olt K'ing 33% or so and having a swing that gets under the ball, he's obviously going to struggle with his BA. His LD% is actually under 10% though, which does surprise me somewhat. Giving me hope he can hit .215-.225 anyway. Which turns into a nice player, given his other stuff.
  21. If Valbuena were on a 3-4 year deal(would like it if we gave him one personally) he's a no-brainer over Olt. But the controlled years are so far apart between the two, I lean Olt only for that reason. I DO think Olt is the only one of the pair that could help move KB to RF, but it's not looking too promising currently. With only 2B and 3B to fill and Javy, KB, Alcantara and even Villanueva fairly close, I honestly doubt EITHER of Valbuena or Olt are Cubs in 2 years.
  22. I've jumbled other curses together and they're not censored either. I just trim it back to make sure I see [expletive].
  23. Might be a good target in the second if we underslot the first. LOL - don't think he'll make it there? - don't think he'd be a good target? - don't think he'd sign for what would be available? - don't think we'll underslot enough? Oh lord, I figured you were making a joke. He's a senior(no leverage), often injured guy that's been bad until just now. In no way would I overslot for him and I'd be shocked if he goes anywhere near the 2nd round. 4th-5th round AT slot, MAYBE take a flier then, at slot. He's damaged goods as far as I'm concerned, one good start doesn't change that for me.
  24. Might be a good target in the second if we underslot the first. LOL
