  1. I'm not a fan of Roy. I place THIS blame solely on Doherty though. Roy would have stayed away from him, as he has other recruits that may wind up being trouble. Under ZERO circumstance do I think he or anyone else remotely successful in D-1 basketball runs a clean program. McCants though, was a problem Roy inherited.
  2. Here's my wish list, no idea if its reasonable or not..... Entire top 10 picks obviously P Brink P Griggs 3B Mitchell 2B Young P Null 3B Martarano P Zayas 1 of either C, Cantu or Adams or 1 of OF, Gilliam or Peters 2 of P, Bass, Willis, and Deppermann(preferred) I'm sure we'll sign the college Seniors and wind up with 25-28 total.
  3. http://ccdt.webs.com/ In case some missed it at the bottom of the page, this is the preeminent place to see Cubs signing info. Yagyu, from PSD, created this and I asked him if I could post it here as well. Sounds like Schwarber is in obviously. Zagunis is, Sands too. Based on Twitter, sounds like Norwood(7th) is in. Mitchell is in(13th). Griggs is in.(12th) With plenty of others sounding positive as well.
  4. http://ccdt.webs.com/ Yagyu, from PSD, is the MAN, for tracking down signing info and rumors. He created this to help condense everything and I asked him if itd be OK to link it here. Thanks a bunch. Yags!
  5. Wrong thread. I'm OK with Melky, Rasmus, or Markakis next year though.
  6. Marlin said it, my guess is its true. Wish we had the monetary number. They won't announce any of this stuff officially until they pass their physicals.
  7. By the way, Martarano was a HS Senior last year and turned down an offer from the Phils. Big, big power but is playing football at Boise. Redshirted, was defensive freshman of the year on their freshman squad as a LB. Boise doesn't have a baseball program. My guess is he's a near impossible sign.
  8. Isiah Gilliam, a HS OF/1B, in the 23rd. He'd require a big over slot. Ranked inside the top 150 by BA, MLB, and Kiley too, I think.
  9. Brewers just drafted Curtis Curtis.
  10. I like Day 1 a hell of a lot more after Day 2. Anything cool on Day 3 is gravy now.
  11. Awesome, figured he'd take all of slot.
  12. With our current OF situation, Castillo seems like a solid target to me.
  13. The kind of frustrating thing(lending even slightly more hope) is we'll likely draft a few more "tough sign" types, in order to have fall back options from Sands and Cease, if something goes wrong there. Granted, we'd lose their slot values, but there'd be money left over still from the early under slots.
  14. Most of the college Seniors that get drafted inside the top 10 rounds are drafted strictly for signability. They usually agree to deals for 10k or so, as they have no leverage at all. Stinnett is more like James Ramsey from the Cards a few years back. He was a legit top 30 talent and signed for just a couple hundred thousand under slot. Stinnett is more of a 2/3 round talent. I had guessed he'd sign for half slot, but I'm probably light on that after looking up Ramsey. Still, he'll come in under slot on some level.
  15. He wanted to. He failed the physical.
  16. They'll certainly be wanting large bonuses, at least close to 7 figures, if not more. Bukauskas-Unsignable by all accounts Marshall- Announced today he's going to LSU Weisenberg-wants 7 figures, Stanford commit Montez de oca- wants 7 figures McKinney-wants 7 figures Johnson-no known demands, dad works for Blue Jays Peterson-no known demands, coming off injury That's the pitchers, not sure on position players.
  17. I saw this, and I don't really get it. So every guy the took up to pick #199 was in the BA top 200 and that means they're killing it? There's plenty of guys inside that range that are going to college and/or have high bonus demands. It's actually not all that easy to do, unless you're taking all college juniors.
  18. Which is why you don't lose your [expletive] on day one. This is my version of Kyle's Game Thread.
  19. Cease and Sands cost money...... yeah, but at least take a dude with a scouting report. I'm wrong too, he's a Junior. Saw his birthday and figured he was a cheap senior sign.
  20. Cease and Sands cost money......
  21. God, it feels like he was originally drafted 10 years ago.
  22. I'm a fan if he can stick at 3B. Also like his teammate Tannger English as a CF. Is Greg Allen gone (San Diego State CF)? If not, he's probably my favorite bat out there. Allen went in the 6th. Fenway Parks hasn't been drafted yet. Handsome Monica is a HS C evidently.
