  1. We're probably done and I'm absolutely OK with that. We do probably have a bit of money to play wit, if we wanted to though, and still be fine for deadline acquisitions. On what though? If a guy like Cashner took 5-6 mill? I'm in. I don't think he's taking it, but if he did, I'd be more than OK with added depth. Same with a guy like Dyson. Again, my guess is he's getting more than that. But, he'd be a cool luxury, if he somehow fit, if it left us in solid shape for the deadline.
  2. They're too stupid to realize the back end of the deal happens on the next CBA, where the LT is going to be close to 300.
  3. Holy horsefeathers. 6/126 is insanely low.
  4. I'm pissed Lauri got 7 shots. Wow...I guess it was just my perception because everytime I looked up it seemed like he was making shots At least he hit 5 of them lol. Seriously, Portis took a 3(he did hit it), with Lauri having Crawford on his hip down low. Grant misses him on the perimeter constantly on pick and rolls. He should have had double the attempts he did.
  5. I'm pissed Lauri got 7 shots.
  6. LaVine in the 4th was fun though. At least the Pelicans lost and are now out of the playoffs. I can see that pick winding up 12th, which would be great.
  7. horsefeathers. We may regret that one.
  8. There's the Taj/Jimmy Tribute video. Pretty good stuff.
  9. When you sell second roundersfor cash what's the difference? Its so horsefeathering frustrating. They made(lucked into) a great deal, that gave us 3 very solid building blocks. Hell, I'll even give them credit on the Niko deal. 3 1st rounders dealt at the deadline, we got one of them. Possibly even the best one. But, there's a 1.5 game difference between 1st and 8th right now, in terms of the lottery. And Lopez and Holiday are both still here. I don't care if you gave them away, if it nets you one extra loss this year, its worth it. Then, Paxson says in the PC, that they were approached with bad contract deals, but they didn't want to take any money on, since they had Asik. At least not anything past next year. So, they'll have to get lucky as hell drafting. There's not going to be a bunch of extra assets to make trades with or anything.
  10. I guess I like getting to take a look at Vonleh. But, should have gotten a 2nd out of Portland, for keeping them out of the luxury tax.
  11. Amazed they found a way to lose that.
  12. Bulls up by 19 after the 1st in Sacramento. Holy horsefeathers, the Kings are an abomination.
  13. Its going to be extremely hard to catch Orlando, Atlanta, or Sacramento in the standings. Even though we've got the same amount of wins as Phoenix, its going to be hard to edge past them too. They've only got 7 games left against the worst 10 teams in the league.(1 at home). The Bulls have 12 of those games.(5 at home) Realistically, without ping pong help, the Bulls are drafting 5-8. Competing with Dallas, Brooklyn, and Memphis. I think Ayton, Bagley, and Doncic are the top tier of this draft. Porter and Bamba are the second tier, with Young and JJJ as the 3rd tier. But, I think that entire group of 7 is very, very strong. The tank MAY get helped more this week though, evidently talks on Lopez are getting serious.....
  14. Clark did a HORRIBLE job negotiating. There's nothing to do, until the next one. Which will almost definitely cost us a season of baseball, in my opinion. But, the bottom line is this is a shitty FA class. Teams know that and are saving for next year. And yes, I think teams will spend more next off season, not JUST on Bryce and Manny. But, the bottom line is this is a saber friendly sport now. All but a couple of teams look at FA differently than it was looked at by most, a decade ago. They'll still spend, but its going to be controlled and when they think they've got a shot at winning. Which brings me to another point, that I laughed at earlier today, discussing this with a buddy. He said he read and agreed with an article, saying baseball was better 25 years ago. Back when teams were dumb and everyone thought they had a chance to win.....I think I agree too lol.
  15. A lot depends on Lavine, but they should be able to still get a max player in 2018 or 19 I think. If they can trade Lopez, they should have enough space to get a max this offseason. But yeah, 2019 they'll definitely have enough cap space to get a max guy. The Knicks are evidently willing to trade their 1st, to get rid of Noah. I'd do it. It'd be taking on 38 mill over the following 2 seasons, but you'd be able to send one of Asik or Felicio, or Lopez back, I'm sure. Based on the roster, I THINK you could still have room to add a max after next season, and still do that..... But, you've got a likely top 5 pick, a 15-20 pick, and the Knicks pick is probably 8-12. I'd love to find a way to get one from Ayton, Bagley, Bamba, or JJJ plus one from Doncic, Young, or Porter. Adding the Knicks pick could make that a reality.
  16. The back end of a 6,7, or 8 year deal doesn't bother me. Mainly because we'll be into a new CBA at that point. And the LT number will be much, much higher than its at now. Closer to 300 mill, based on current revenues. Its just not going to hamper us that much, as long as we don't make it a habit contractually, which Theo wouldn't.
  17. Phoenix bought out Greg Monroe, who's from New Orleans actually. So, unless the Celts can convince him, he's probably taking the Pelicans off Niko.
  18. Sounds like the Pelicans ARE balking about the option year. Niko wants it picked up. They're unsure, due to having to pay the LT, when bringing back Cousins lol. Cheap ass team. Still can get done though, just have to add extra players.
  19. Now, that'd be an ideal move to try and make.....
  20. Unless they literally want to try him out/salvage the playoff run with Cousins out and still have the ability to decide on next year? I'd almost prefer the pick be heavily protected, as long as it eventually pays out without restrictions (and doesn't just turn into a second rounder or something). Protect it out for like 5 years and then wait for them to lose Davis, suck, and pick up a top 5 pick exactly the time well need good, affordable players to plug holes. They could prefer that. But, it SEEMS like a best case scenario for them....Add him for next year and figure out what to give Cousins too. They're hamstrung contractually otherwise.
  21. Sounds like it could still happen. The Pelicans need to send more salary back. That MAY be the issue for now. But, it could be Niko blocking it. The Bulls would need to pick up his option, which seems like a no-brainer that the Pels would want, to me anyway.
  22. not that it really makes things better, but it's an achilles, not ACL Yeah its actually worse. the history of comebacks from achilles tears in the nba is not good. https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2018/1/27/16940178/demarcus-cousins-achilles-tear-injury-kobe-bryant-wesley-matthews-rudy-gay-this-is-the-worst Here's a good article on Achilles recovery...... Damn. I'll definitely stand by my initial thought. He ain't getting a max right now. 4/100 seems high, in all honesty.
