  1. The Phillies need to go grab Cobb too now. They've got tons of money to spend and it'd set them up even better to be a player next offseason.
  2. I'm glad we didn't keep him. But, I wish he'd have gotten much more. He was a horsefeathering bad ass for us and we don't have that World Series without him. The guy gave us some of the best Cubs memories we've got.

  4. Cobb is getting bent over the table at this point. Jake is going to wait things out and hope someone gets hurt, in my mind.
  5. I'm waiting a year, maybe two, before I start trying to make a trade like that. 1) Not sure if there's a guy even available 2) Boston has dibs on the 1st star on the block, unless we'd massively overpay to beat them. I think you should factor in the input of said star player who is available. If AD ever becomes available he might want to come back to Chicago and play for his hometown team, or at least would prefer that. Giannis might want to come to Chicago because it's close to Milwaukee and I've heard he actually likes living there for some reason. Boston can make the better trade offers right now, but those trade assets start depreciating. Like Bos is not getting the Laker's pick this year so that most likely means they're getting the Sac pick next year in a terrible draft class. They could still draft a good player, but I'd rather have a pick in this year's draft if I were the Celtics. They do have a bunch of future draft picks from other teams. Not sure how great they'll end up being though. Bulls just need to keep accumulating good young players and actually draft players with their 2nd round picks instead of getting those "cash considerations"... Eh, you're looking at this thru Chicago glasses. Seriously, do you think AD is going to tell New Orleans or Boston he'll only play in Chicago? Come on. That ain't factoring in. What likely does though? Is that he can win a title in Boston. At any rate, he's not going to make a play to be in Chicago. Giannis? Yeah, he likes it in Milwaukee. Because he doesn't want to be in a big city. Not to mention, we're a long ways away from having the assets the Celtics do, whether they're depreciating or not. Honestly, its a moot point. We need more youngsters and a bit better idea of EXACTLY what we have, before making any half cocked moves. The end of next season, we'll have a much better idea on what our guys can be.

  8. I mean.....Wow. Bang up job by Boras on this one. I think there were some guys thinking he'd get 100 mill. At any rate, this is shameful.
  9. I want more obviously, but yeah......I think that's a fun group to watch. I want half of them traded for a better player. I'm waiting a year, maybe two, before I start trying to make a trade like that. 1) Not sure if there's a guy even available 2) Boston has dibs on the 1st star on the block, unless we'd massively overpay to beat them.
  10. I know very little about basketball, but Lavine, Dunn, Lauri, Bridges, and Portis seems like a pretty fun line up to watch develop over the next couple years. Uh, do you want Miles or Mikal? I personally prefer Mikal Bridges and was hoping to grab him with the NO pick, but that has no chance of happening now... I'd be shocked if Mikal isn't taken in the top 10. I can see Miles dropping outside the lottery, just because he's a tweener.

  12. Assuming the Bulls are drafting 8th or 9th, there's still going to be some very nice players available. If the top 7 stay the same(which is likely not to happen), you'll see Ayton, Bagley, Doncic, Bamba, Porter, Jackson, and Young gone..... Leaves you with Wendell Carter or Mikal Bridges. Both of whom I like a lot. Bridges, in particular, is damn near a perfect fit. Both of those guys are long term starters. Its not the best scenario for what we expected, but its still very solid. Especially considering the development of Lauri, LaVine, and Dunn. Hell, add Portis too.
  13. I'll take Landry over Watkins any day of the week, especially if Landry's tag gets rescinded.
  14. Eh, you gotta dress your guys. Sitting Lopez and Holiday has been pretty brazen. Honestly can't blame the league for saying something about it. The Bulls are going to finish with the 9th pick. On top of that, at the time of the Niko trade, the Pelican pick looked like it'd be in the 12-15 range. Now its looking like 22-25.
  15. If he could be had for a late round pick, any interest in Dez?
  16. I think my perfect off-season is us getting a pair of starting WR's in FA. With one being Robinson or Landry(via them rescending the tag), plus signing Newell and a CB, like Amukamara. Draft OLB in the 1st. Trade down and get a 3rd back. Use those picks on a CB and an O-Lineman.
  17. No Franchise tag for Fuller. Honestly, with the cap room we've got, I think I'd RATHER keep him on a one year deal, to see if he's worth a long term commitment after that. We may keep him. But, I'm thinking that the tag was the best option, given the circumstances.
  18. Howard may not be a great fit for the offense, and I actually want Landry too. (Probably in the minority there) But, I'd want their 2nd, instead of the 3rd, to get me on board with this.
  19. http://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/sources-bears-dolphins-have-discussed-jarvis-landry-jordan-howard-swap This seems weird. I'd be happy to get Landry and move down from 8 to 11. But, to make the deal Landry and 8 for Jordan Howard, 11, and their 3rd? That's just odd.
  20. Horrible win. Dallas was up 13 in 3rd. Needed that one bad.
  21. Bulls down 2 at half to Mats in a must lose.
  22. Thanks man. We've got the SS and Gallardo as the only names known at this point. I'd love to see us add one other big bonus pitcher and spend the rest on hitting(if there's anything left) If I had to guess, they probably have about $2 million tied up with Gallardo and the SS Rafael Morel. With the hard IFA caps in the new CBA, it's tougher to sign multiple top IFAs so it would be a pleasant surprise if they could still get Osiel Rodriguez and end up signing the top two pitchers in this class. You get the top two pitchers in the class and you have a better chance that one will be a healthy top 100 prospect by AA ball. That said, I'm guessing they're already linked to a few mid-6 figure guys and might not have enough money for a guy like Rodriguez who basically is a pop up guy. I'm thinking more along the lines of trading for extra IFA money. Now that you can't go over, but can buy 75% more(if you can find it), its the best way to rebuild the system quickly. Especially since you can do this every year. You've got to do it for smaller increments at a time, but there's always teams out there with 300-500k left over. And Baltimore with all of theirs lol. I'm hopeful we take advantage of this, since the acquisition cost of 500k or under in IFA money is small.
