  1. [tweet] [/tweet] Javy has lived up to the expectations, as far as I'm concerned. There were a lot that wanted him dealt, there were a lot that thought he'd bust. Hes good now, still improving quite a bit, and is one of the most watchable guys in the game. Hes given us some serious ass joy. horsefeathers Hurdle and anyone else who talks horsefeathers about Javy.
  2. What's awesome is they found a way to spend 5.975 mill when their budget was under 5 mill. Not even including sub 100k guys..... The lefty pitcher, Garcia, has some interesting notes.
  3. Not sure I'd like trading down this far, but 8 and 115 for 23,31, and 95 is in the vicinity from the outdated trade value chart..... It'd give us 4 picks in the top 95 and you'd still have an early 4th too, to navigate with somewhat.
  4. I think this leads to a trade down. We've got legit needs for an edge rusher, a wide out, and an offensive lineman. Not to mention, its conceivable they could take a DB early too. I guess there's still some vets you can sign, but if we're counting on draft picks to play, I'd like to see us have 3rd rounders or better at each of those spots.
  5. Well, Kings kinged like always. They do play Houston in Sacramento, to finish their season, in a game Houston likely is sitting a bunch of guys.... Granted, Bulls are at home playing a Detroit team that's playing for nothing and without Blake.
  6. Yeah. It was fun seeing the Gonzalez article a few days ago, with McLeod kind of hinting that hitting could be addressed early in the draft this year.
  7. I don't want this to turn into a Theo discussion, so I'll just agree to disagree on that end of things.... Again, I like lots of Pace's move, in a vacuum. But its time for them to start producing wins. just as long as you realize that you're a prospect nerd among prospect nerds (maybe not to that cubswin guy's or even raisin's level, but close) , so you're biased on that front, lol. Duly noted. With pride.
  8. there was tons and tons of doubt and by no means was the cubs being a powerhouse characterized as a certain thing aside from a few prospect nerds. come on. nationally there was plenty of doubt in theo after the way 2011 ended, the first 3 years with the cubs...the narrative was that maybe he just lucked into inheriting the 04 team and also that he just won by spending money. as an aside, i was and am a huge theo fan boy and i was far from certain this was going to turn into a great thing. i was pretty sure it'd be good, but most prospects bust and somehow only like 2 of ours (alcantara and soler) truly busted. I don't want this to turn into a Theo discussion, so I'll just agree to disagree on that end of things.... Again, I like lots of Pace's move, in a vacuum. But its time for them to start producing wins.
  9. The national media was gushing over the Cubs farm system. They all were saying that they were going to be a powerhouse, just a matter of when. This isn't yet the case with the Bears.
  10. I'm optimistic. Not nearly THAT optimistic though. A top 10 offense puts them in the playoffs. I don't see that yet. Nor do I think comparing what Pace has done, to what Theo did, is remotely fair. If anything, I think Theo gave the rest of Chicago's sports teams a reason to do this. And none of them are as equipped as well as Theo to do it obviously. Theo had everybody in baseball gushing over the prospects and he'd already proven that he could lure the big FA too, when the time was right..... Everyone knew the Cubs were going to be elite. I mean, we're gushing over Pace's off season this year..... But nationally, its been lukewarm, I guess? No ones jumping thru hoops to talk about the Bears. And its still far from certain this is working either..... If I'm comparing it to the Cubs, I'd say the Bears right now are at the point when the Cubs drafted KB? Which puts the Bears needing to be a playoff team by 2019, I guess? And while I'm thrilled with Robinson, he's a dude coming off a down year and then a season ending injury after that. He's still a risk. Much more so than a normal top flight guy obviously and it showed in his pricetag. As for what I'd have done differently? I'd have went bigger in FA each year and would have traded back enough to acquire a bunch of extra picks. Granted, I'll admit I wouldn't have Trubisky. But, I'd have had the ammo to go get a top flight QB prospect too. And while I'm optimistic on Trubisky, its far from set in stone he's a franchise guy. We'll obviously know much more after the season though. Anyway, put me down in the group where I need to see results here. Pace doesn't have the same authority as Theo.(no one does though lol)
  11. :? Seems clear to me, but I understand your perspective. How do you feel about the offseason additions, Nagy included? I like what's been done this off-season. But its way too premature to give Pace any sort of real credit yet. Trubisky has some weapons now. Lets see how he does..... But the bottom line is still the actual bottom line and the record shows nothing so far. How many more years does he get before he needs to make the playoffs? I just don't think a true rebuild is needed in football. But either way, its time to start winning games at this point. Edit- But I will definitely vouch for you, that you were a leading member of the Trubisky bandwagon. Because I went round and round on the other end of it.
  12. Both get the same number of ping pong balls. No tie breakers involved.
  13. I don’t even horsefeathering know half the players playing. Hopefully this means that Fred Hoiberg is suddenly an elite coach that can win no matter who plays for him He's out sick lol. No BS man. Never mind. Guess he was back for this one lol. Saw Boylen giving out high fives and figured he was coaching again.
  14. Eh, I may have looked at the same. Its definitely frustrating watching them go 18-34 from 3, but its still up to our incompetent FO to come up with the lineup configurations to insure losses. Lauri has back issues, he should be shut down. Especially since he's not getting minutes with LaVine or Dunn. Lots of things they could be doing, like getting Felicio 30-35 minutes a night..... Too late now, we're looking at the 8th or 9th pick. When there was literally no reason they couldn't have had the 3rd or 4th.
  15. Ahh good points, I never thought of it that way. Listen, I'm not pretending my statement isn't obvious. The only reason I even said anything was the "horsefeathers these idiots" part of davell's quote. Just rubbed me the wrong way. Jesus, the players are the LEAST to blame. Its GarPax and in this case, Boylen, for lineup combos. The Bulls HAVE played hard, I wish they didn't personally.... But the frustration is always directed at the FO.
  16. I get that it's annoying that they are messing up their draft position, but "tanking" is always a front office strategy, never a player strategy. The players are never going to lose on purpose. why is this at all worth saying? Not only that, but tell that to Orlando against us..... They weren't even getting down the floor in the 4th, or sending a single guy to the boards lol.
  17. Bulls up horsefeathering 12 on the Wizards, minus Wall, heading to the 4th. horsefeathers these idiots.
  18. 1. Cubs have Ademan and Lange on most prospect lists at the end of the year. Little, Rodriguez(IFA signing) and Amaya make at least one list. System firmly back in middle of the pack territory, as a whole. 2. Maples and Alzolay both pitch some impactful major league innings. 3. De la Cruz gets moved to the pen and shows serious potential as a back end reliever. Expected to be impact guy for 2019. 4. Cubs draft a hitter in the 1st and 2nd round in the draft, pitching with both supplemental picks and thru out the rest of the first 10 rounds. 5. Cubs trade Zagunis and Mills to help come up with the IFA money for Rodriguez.(who gets 3 mill) 6. David Bote gets 100+ ML AB's. 7. Brailyn Marquez is firmly inside our top 10 after the season. 8. Jared Young and Erich Uelmen finish the year in MB and very strongly, at that. 9. Fernando Kelli and Didier Vargas are the 2 guys in Arizona that generate the most buzz. 10. Nelson Velázquez continues to show light tower power, finishing in SB for 30 games.
  19. The Bulls have given up an average of 116 points over their last 10 games. Orlando, who's playing fresh, hangs 82 on the Bulls. Playing the back end of a back to back lol. Assuming we're not moving up in the lottery, I'd like to see how far up we could move, with the Pels pick and Portis. I really want one of Ayton, Bagley, or Doncic.....
  20. 11-5 record versus the 7 teams with worse records.....
  21. Jesus, Orlando wouldn't even get down the court in the 4th. 7th or 8th it is.
  22. Bulls go 2-22 from the field in the 3rd, Orlando takes the 3 point lead. Bulls on 10-2 run early in the 4th. This is so awful, but I respect the grit involved in trying to lose by both teams.
  23. Bulls up 13 at the half. No idea why they played Lauri in this part of the back to back. Him playing last night still results in a loss and sets up tonight better. Oh well, 7th or 8th pick, here we come.
