  1. Underwood and Tseng at Daytona and McKinney in AA all as 20 year olds next season should be fun. Any chance Tseng skips Daytona as dominant as he's been in KC? I can't see it. I could see him split his season next year evenly between Daytona and Tennessee though.
  2. Not sure I understand? Do you think he's going to be below average defensively there? Or are you just wanting a bigger bat there? Both? At any rate, we've certainly got enough bats to go around elsewhere. Plus, I still see an .800 OPS out of Starlin myself. And I don't see anything other than Starlin/Russell/Javy at those 3 spots. And if the reports are correct, Russell will move him off SS. If you're going the trade route here in your thinking, I honestly think all 3 of those guys are here longterm. we have any number of guys that would outproduce Castro there. Just let go. Other than KB, I'm not seeing any. And it's far from certain he'll stick there.
  3. KB had about a 10 minute interview on Olney's podcast and talked about Manny quite a bit. Said he's laid back obviously and watches closely. Will always give input when asked and offers stuff on his own some too. Has tailored different hitting drills for guys. Set to fit them individually.
  4. You got this in prior to my response. Bottom line is I think we'll buy pitching.

  6. He will once the year is over. He could wind up at the tail end of our top 10, depending on how many graduations happen.
  7. no room for Alcantara? lol we can't find a spot for a guy who's awesome. Alcantara stays in CF. C Castillo 1B Rizzo 2B Javy SS Starlin 3B KB LF Rusney CF Alcantara RF Soler oh yeah Doesn't account for Russell though. He takes over SS, Starlin moves to 3B. KB has to move to LF, Rusney moves to CF and Alcantara becomes our Zobrist, I guess.

  9. Good stuff and Welcome! If you're working with Dateline though, I think that dude's gone.
  10. Yeah, this is a moo thread most likely.
  11. Put Rusney Castillo in LF and Bryant at 3B in late April and I think that's it.
  12. Free Agents are looking at us differently now.
  13. Twitter reactions from the media are glorious.
  14. http://rotoscouting.com/one-mans-jacob-turner-is-another-mans-martin-perez/ Good article on how bad this is on the Marlins end. I just want this to go thru.
  15. This needs to happen at some point today, right? Or is it tomorrow?
  16. The Dodgers have said they weren't trading ANY of Seager, Perderson, or Urias. Amaro has said he didn't necessarily ask teams for their best prospects. I've seen quotes from GM's saying the rumors going around this deadline were more off than ever. And that stuff that gets reported to begin with only gets talked about 20% of the time anyway. Look at the deadline buyers and figure out how many teams were capable of adding 20+ mill to their payroll on a longterm deal. The Tigers got Price, the Angels have no system at all, the Yankees don't have much of a system and appeared to be targeting rentals and the Dodgers weren't interested in trading their elite guys. Again, I seriously doubt this gets done(hell, we're on his NTC) but the asking price MAY not be ridiculous.
  17. If guys only have to make it back to Philly in the waiver wire process.....I could see Alcantara and Almora as the top two guys heading to Philly. We sign Rusney and we head into the offseason looking pretty damn solid.(no, I don't expect it)
  18. This month is going to be fun. If we claimed him, we'll claim other top pitchers too.
  19. If it is us, I'm happy. Not that I expect anything to come of it, but it shows we're willing to add a 4/96 deal at this point that's not in their mid 20's.
  20. @MikeMiss975: My info sez the CUBS put in the waiver claim on Cole Hamels. Would the Phils trade him there now and would Cole accept?
  21. you're thinking of back2banks I know Kyle says positive things at times about the FO. It's actually nice to see him gaining optimism.
  22. We're on his 20 team NTC. But it wouldn't shock me if it was us. Amaro may flip a coin with heads being "ask for Javy, KB, Soler, and Russell" and tails being "let them take his salary off our books".
  23. I compliment them all the darn time. I just don't absolve them of everything bad that happens under their charge. I see what I want to see. Seriously though, I could see 2 of Straily, Hendricks, Doubront, and Turner making our rotation. I think one is close to definite. If its 2, it'd be at both Jaxon and Wood's expense. Because I fully expect multiple additions, given our payroll.
