    I really want to see Rowen. Sidearmer that usually tops out 78-80.

    If we add a rental type pitcher, whether its Latos, Kennedy, Leake, Haren, or whoever....It costs us depth guys, which we're set up for. I'm not going to cry if Vogelbach or Zagunis or guys like them wave bye bye to us. I'm hopeful for a longer term guy still and a stopgap reliever. I think I've given up on adding a hitter now though.

    Pretty sure TT was having fun with the idea damn near every trade proposed here has a few of those guys thrown in. I'll hate losing Javy, but I'd understand him being a part of it. If its Torres/McKinney/+, I'd initially cringe, but I'd be fine with it. My question is this: I'd rank them Carrasco, Ross, Teheran.....Anyone put those 3 in a different order of preference?

If we do something on the smaller side it will probably be more for a trental.” This appears to be a throw away statement, but I personally think(hope not) that it takes us out on Zobrist. Based on the amount of interest he's got, someone is going to pay way up on him.

    I'm hoping to find some ABTY nuggets, but either he quit rumor mongering completely or at least had the sense to change names/sites/etc.

    John, I too am hearing from my sources that Cubs are looking to address 2B for now and the future, and the name I heard was Jason Kipnis from Cleveland. I heard the Cubs FO is prepared to move Javier Baez, Kyle Hendricks and another significant prospect (not top 10 necessarily) for Cleveland's all star 2B. I was scrolling thru comments and noticed this from old time NSBBer Hoopscubs, sent to Arguello. Slow ass news day.

    @Ken_Rosenthal: #Cubs, seeking another starter, among clubs that could wait for prices to drop 7/31. #Padres’ Kennedy, others still could be in play then. That's kind of what I suspect we'll do. If the prices are unreasonable on the controllable guys, it makes some sense. Even if its not exciting whatsoever. I'm losing hope on the elite guys for sure.

    With Tuesday's probable likely being Beeler, it kind of gives an incentive to get something done today or tomorrow. Some of Tuesday's probables around MLB..... Teheran Shark Price CJ Wilson(rumored as a trade chip) Shields Iwakuma Leake Gray(dare to dream) With Tyson Ross on regular rest as well.

    Why is that a bad offer? If I were critiquing, I'd think the Zobrist deal may need a higher end lead piece, since there's half the league evidently after him.

    It looks to me like they need hitting much more than pitching moving forward. I wonder if McKinney/Contreras/Johnson would work for them on Teheran?

    Well, even if there are budget restraints, he could still be had if they kicked in money.
