  1. Buehrle just gave up 6 and can't make it out of the 1st. Lllllllooooooooooooollllllllll
  2. Pirates butts just tightened a bit.
  3. Oh, there will be a ton of media [expletive] if we miss this by a game. That said, I THINK we went 5-3 without KB.
  4. Yeah, Badler nailed that one. If he didnt have another team offering more than that, his stock wasn't nearly what the hype made it out to be.
  5. Every time I see this, I say it the way the Jets QB calls Sandler "rich boy" in Mr Deeds.
  6. Because he went 6.2 IP yesterday. And that's why reading an article prior to commenting is important.
  7. 15 years straight of 200 innings is awfully impressive. But no idea why he doesn't just pitch a normal start.
  8. I remember some sort of cards you could buy at Walmart and there was an autographed one on top for like 10 bucks or so. I think I got a Carlos Delgado that way.
  9. Jake got his 20 wins and a sub 2 ERA, so that's done. I obviously want KB and Rizzo to get to 100 RBI's. Addy to finish with a .700+ OPS. Starlin with a .300 OBP and 1 WAR. Javy to get another BB or 2 without K'ing at all. Anybody got anything else?
  10. Hamilton with 2 homers today. Good job Arte.
  11. Oh absolutely not! The major sites are on the up! There's been incredible findings coming from the writers of BP and FG. Chamberlain is destroying (in a good way) all the hitcast data. He made an xISO stat which is really good. Also the new xBABIP stat is slightly better than previous versions. Not only that, but they've done a great job of expanding its presence into larger markets. So now Eno Sarris can actually interview all the big guys and write about his findings on Fox Sports. I'd rather read your stuff. Just post more here man.
  12. It's his [expletive] face. I don't care if he was the Oscar Wilde of the baseball world. If reading his [expletive] cured stupidity from all of civilization, I'd let people moron it the [expletive] up for all of eternity.
  13. Jeff Sullivan is by far my favorite Fangraphs guy. I'm not even sure there's another one(I don't count Kiley McDaniel, who is awesome for prospects) that I actually consider a must-read. It seems like all the major sites are in a bit of a downturn, in my opinion.
  14. I've known Brett for well over a decade in coming from the same message board community. (Cubstalk to it turning into ITI, to when we formed SOI) I'll defend him for the most part and think he's done an excellent job of getting pretty decent info out there. Is it a bit homerish? Sure. But that's part of the charm for me at least. Of the blogs out there for teams thru out the MLB world, I think he's got one of the best. The legal stuff and the debt structure stuff being among the best work he's done, which has trumped the beat guys rather easily in those departments. That said, if it's not him writing, I recognize immediately and just stop reading. As for his minor league guy, I'd take TT, Raisin, Toonster, and others over Luke in a heartbeat. He;s more of a Sickels(stat analyzer) type and we've got guys here that present that kind of info(sneaky,TT, Kyle, Duke, among them) that do it in a much better and easier to read form. But again, to take his site to where it is now, Brett has done an excellent job as far as I'm concerned. My guess is he eventually gets Muskat's job.
  15. This is a stupid thread title. That's a complaint.
  16. I'm just legit happy that after the past 3 seasons of arguing back and forth on whether [expletive] was done right or not, we all have had this season to enjoy.
  17. Contreras got an above average regular put on him by Law today. So he's a top 50 guy now on his list most likely.
  18. Well [expletive]
  19. no can do- too whiffy still too whiffy Because 21 and 22 year olds never improve?
  20. He's 22. He's very talented. He'll keep improving.
  21. The Mets, Rays, Yankees, White Sox, Reds, Padres, Mariners, Pirates, Tigers, Rockies(my guess is they dump Reyes-possibly to the Yanks) and Marlins could all conceivably be looking for a SS this offseason. The FA available are Alexei Ramirez, Stephen Drew, Asdrubal Cabrera, Jimmy Rollins, and Ian Desmond. That's why Castro has SOME value. Considering he can also play 2B, that situation isn't any prettier. The Royals, Mets, Orioles, Yankees, Angels, Brewers, Phillies, Blue Jays, White Sox, and Diamondbacks could conceivably all look to do something there. FA are Cabrera, Drew, Howie Kendrick, Daniel Murphy, Chase Utley, and Ben Zobrist. I'm sure a few of these teams probably have all glove, no hit stopgaps laying around. But there's enough teams in need here to where Starlin is going to be a relatively enticing option once the big names have gone off the board.
