  1. Cam Sanders, RHP from LSU in the 12th. 475 on BA's list. I'm guessing this means no HS over slot money left. But, I guess its possible for a few more picks.
  2. Cubs take Louisville RHP Riley Thompson in the 11th. 219 on BA's list.
  3. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1R9hzhGo0Q_29g2bfa2yQwHYqNN799JzkCP7HyK-XCKY/htmlview# Here's Wes' spreadsheet. This is THE go to spot, for any signing info.
  4. I assume a UVA degree has some value. Yeah. And he could have done that after he tried pro baseball. With 900k in his pocket. And the Cubs paying for his college.
  5. Maybe the Cubs didn't have any pre-draft handshake overslot deals? Maybe not. Davis is definitely getting over slot at 62. Roederer might too, at 77. But, I'd figure we evened it out with Hoerner. Richan was slot. Herron could be an under slot in the 3rd. He's got to have TJS. Roberts could be in the 4th too. Weber was unranked in the 5th too, but he's a big conference guy. Maybe he got slot. Franklin was an unranked HS guy. His dad is an agent. Maybe we went over for him? If so, I wouldn't think it was much. Artis in the 7th? Maybe we needed to give him a bit extra? Mort and Casey are non descript, they were slot guys, at most. Looking this over, my honest guess is we'll have the entire overage to play with tomorrow. Plus maybe an extra 200-300k on top of it.

  7. Pretty sure he's a 4th year junior. College didn't make him any smarter though. Still says it was a good decision lol.
  8. That guy isn't a senior either. So we haven't done any of them. I have no clue where we are financially lol. Tomorrow will be interesting early on.
  9. On the telecast, it says he's 90-93. Missed some time this year with a leg injury. Dad is an agent. Said he's got some upside.
  10. Are we saving for something? Herron is a guy needing TJS and Roberts is an unknown. And a reliever. If these guys are getting slot, I'm surprised.
  11. I was underwhelmed with Hoerner. That was my main issue. But, I'm guessing they cut a deal on him. And he is a guy that's likely a big leaguer. Versatile too. Davis and Roederer are interesting picks. Didn't see them coming. So that's going to be fun to monitor. I guess they're both slow burns and may take a while to show us anything to get excited on. They may struggle for a few years. Richan seems like the typical Cubs pitching draft pick. If anything, he's the most disappointing guy for me lol. Hopefully they find some upside arms today. But, I'm pretty happy they took 3 bats yesterday. Personally, I'm hoping we're at slot currently(or better) and that we take another HS kid or 2 today. I'm hoping for senior signs in 7-10. But, my guess is it'll be 9-10.
  12. [tweet]https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/1003883505036636160[/tweet] Oh well.
  13. [tweet]https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/1003869814597668864[/tweet] Neither did that.
  14. [tweet]https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/1003866731297640448[/tweet] That didn't take long lol.
  15. Roederer as a tough sign..... Based on him being a top 150ish type, that could mean different things. Maybe he's slot at 775,100? Or he could be 7 figures. Hoerner? I'm guessing he gets between 2 and 2.5? David evidently is 1.2-1.5..... Let's figure 1.2. Richan seems like maybe we saved a bit too? Best case scenario is we've gone 2 on Hoerner, 1.2 on Davis, slot on Roederer, and 500K on Richan. If that happened, we're sitting around 750k under slot, not counting overage or senior signs.....Which conceivably could still allow us to throw 2 mill at our 3rd Rounder. And use 7-10 on seniors. More likely though, is we're sitting around slot right now. Which leaves 375K on overage and 500K on 7-10 senior signs..... Still would allow for a 1.2-1.3 mill type next round. No idea. This is really tough to figure. Who knows? Maybe we're needing to save already lol.
  16. I know the Cubs seem to want bats..... But man, there's so much pitching sitting there.
  17. Oh yeah, they have to be going way over slot for him. Same with Tampa.
