  1. 30 games into the year, White Sox fans and Hawk were bitching about not getting the credit or recognition for being as good as us this year. Its devolved into a "Frazier is better than KB at 3B" debate, evidently. While still wrong, I applaud them, because its a closer argument than their first one. It'll be fun watching them start out next year, with the "our LOOGY is better" argument.....The battle will eventually be won by the White Sox though. And Hawk will never let us hear the end of it, when they reach the "Our 29 year old soft tossing swingman in AAA, is slightly better at getting grounders on 2-2 counts in the 7th inning of games that aren't decided by under 6 runs, than your guy is.
  2. I remember Arguello saying he's seen him hit 96 and has talked to others that have seen him hit 97. To me, after Cease, Delacruz, and Clifton, he's heads and shoulders above any other pitching prospect in the system, that's pitched stateside for more than 5 innings anyway.
  3. I like Keith Law a lot. I don't blame him for his dickish responses to all the Lake, Jackson and even Scissors questions. He loves the FO and what they've done. And as long as his snarky responses are directed at other teams, I love reading them.
  4. Odd that Bryant wasn't in that. He's perfect so he pronounced it, spelled it frontward and backwards, and then donated time and money to a charity for hard to pronounce names.
  5. He's not 6'1. Its really odd that he's listed at that. But FG has him at 6'4 and his HS/drafted puff pieces all had him at 6'5 and 6'6.
  6. Probably not. I'd say its much more likely he winds up as a high leverage pen arm than as a starter.
  7. Longer than that. We're not the Cubs until Seal Boy is frolicking and flapping on the bench again.
  8. If we lose 36 straight to finish out the season, we finish .500.
  9. Chris Sale can't be pleased.
  10. He may be pouting about not starting. Not that it matters, his stuff seems to have regressed since we drafted him.
  11. De La Cruz went 5 5 0 0 2 6 Clifton has hit 95 and is currently 5 2 0 0 1 9
  12. Paulino and him are the 2 lefties that excite me in the system. Carrera COULD, but he doesn't seem very projectable, maybe like that Rodriguez kid that was excellent early on in the DSL.....
  13. I've often dreamed of a Royal Rumble with kids toys, where Mr. Potato Head turns on the Ken Doll and wins his WM title match against a Cabbage Patch Kid.
  14. Wasn't he the alternate 3rd stooge? I think there's a 99.9% chance he's related to Detlef Schrempf.
  15. Unfortunately, this is one of his prime seasons. I went into the year expecting a 4 WAR season from him on the low end.
  16. Heyward sucks so bad he's not worth insulting anymore.
  17. Craig, its a nitpick, but they only get 25% actually, not half. And I've wondered that too-How teams value that. In the end, with these guys sooooo far away and all anyway, my completely uneducated guess is most teams would be of the "money is money" approach and it all counts against what they've got to spend on IFA's. But teams like us and the Dodgers probably are the opposite and use it to any advantage we can.
  18. Consistent appearance in trade rumors? What have I missed? All I remember are articles saying he's not available.
  19. Badler made a telling quote earlier in the year, on Albertos and it almost definitely applies to Parades too. He said he heard things on Albertos, but didn't do any digging on him and said he should have. Its not great to go off of signing bonus, but we could use it on Parades and figure that we found a guy in an unmined area that we just got at a bargain rate. I can't wait to hear some end of the year gushing on him.
  20. Jesus, Montgomery looks pretty horsefeathering solid, to have gotten him for Vogelbach. I really do think he's a starter for us by 2018, on a full-time basis. And Cahill going the rest of the game is just ridiculously good for the pen.
