  1. My Knicks fan friend thinks they're getting Phil because "it's NY"
  2. He's doing that without a PG, and he's miles better defensively than Boozer. Also doing that in a Mike Brown "system" and knowing he's been dangled in trade talks all season. His efficiency will rocket if he's in a better situation, IMO. As would Boozer's. Boozer's in a bad situation? Offensively for him? Of course. Compare his numbers from Utah/Cleveland to what he's done here in the last year and a half. You really think he just lost all his talent in 1 offseason? The Bulls don't run nearly enough pick and roll with him and Derrick is not a great pick and roll point guard. He also has Noah clogging the lane, a point guard who either drives to the basket or shoots a 3, and a host of wing players that can't dribble or create a shot. It's far from an ideal scenario for Boozers offensive numbers. Isn't he doing about the same on a per minute basis?
  3. Brad Biggs does, and he wants the world to know.
  4. He had an injury (believe it was groin). He was driving to the doctor when he was rearended.
  5. Uh oh... Hope this isn't something that could lead to a suspension.
  6. Bob, would you like to take a jab at the super weak Pac-12? Does Iowa have to play one of them too?
  7. See yeah, 3.5 million is way too much for someone who could very well not see the field this year. They basically spent 15% of their available cap space on an insurance policy. This deal actually makes me a little nervous about Cutler's recovery. We've kind of taken it for granted that he's going to be the same football player next season, when he had a pretty tricky throwing hand injury...
  8. It's hard to complain about seeding when you're in the NIT, but yeah it's [expletive].
  9. What a load of [expletive]. He didn't even get the call!
  10. Can someone explain this deal? Also, Jennings and Monta are going to be hilarious to watch together. So many shots!
  11. this is brilliant You forgot Sulley saying "You better not be lying!" haha
  12. maybe that will shut up all the olsen lovers. well, we could have had Olsen AND Marshall for a 2012 and 2013 3rd round pick... Still... Marshall with Bennett, Knox, Hester, Forte... we're building up our collection of weapons. No point in listing Knox. Is it confirmed he won't have back? Fixed
  13. Chicago Bears have agreed to terms of a trade w Miami for pro bowl WR Brandon Marshall in exchange for 2 third-rounders. -- Jay Glazer OMG OMG OMG OMG
  14. You should just get season tickets. They're so choice. I highly recommend picking some up.
  15. Trolling ain't easy.
  16. I was going to bemoan the fall of Iowa basketball but then I remembered your recent NCAA past includes Northwestern State and Pierre Pierce. They saw purple and "Northwestern", so Iowa just had to lose.
  17. I don't get why this is a good thing. He's happy because Northwestern beats Iowa a lot. He can't get over the fact that Northwestern owns Iowa in football. Sucks about NU losing, sorry Constable Thanks. It sucks, but we've gone from embarrassing to decent in the past few seasons... takes time to become good when you're one of the worst programs in D-I. Have some nice players coming in next season and hopefully the facilities plan is released soon. All that said, a potential NIT home game is a shitty consolation prize. Ugh.
  18. I don't get why this is a good thing. He's happy because Northwestern beats Iowa a lot.
  19. Wouldn't that just be for the dogs? They do appear to have ketchup (presumably for the fries)...not sure they actually have squeeze bottles or not. http://www.google.com/maps?q=wiener's+circle+ketchup&ll=41.929653,-87.643282&spn=0.006665,0.011705&sll=41.930129,-87.64393&layer=c&cid=-2165643934643703534&panoid=t63KY3j25XbbixxVdaft_w&cbp=13,250.99,,0,20.05&hq=wiener's+circle+ketchup&t=h&z=17&cbll=41.930233,-87.643836 I know Gene and Judes has no ketchup on the premises whatsoever. I'm pretty sure it's in pumps with little paper cups. Commercial ruined, now sucks. ETA: lol at that streetview shot -- amazing!
  20. Pretty sure the Weiner's Circle doesn't have ketchup squeeze bottles... isn't that the whole point?
  21. Which results do you think stood out? A quick run through makes me think that the bracket stands right about where it should right now. Although I would have gone with Pujols 03 over Dimaggio 41. Some of the seeding is silly too. Cobb's 1911 is a 12 seed? Other than Ruth's '21 season, there might not be a more 'video-gamish' stat line ever in baseball: 420/.467/.621, 47 doubles, 24 triples, 248 hits, 127 RBI, 147 Runs, 83 stolen bases. The Gehrig v. Williams matchup right now is pretty damn tough. I went with Williams on account of his ability to put up those stats at such a young age. It'll end up with Williams v. Ruth in the final and Ruth winning. Ken Griffey's 1997 season over Bonds's 2001 stood out to me. Same with the aforementioned Pujols-Dimaggio matchup. And yes, the seeding was weird to me.
  22. ESPN has a "Greatest Season Ever" bracket for hitters. Some of the results so far have been pretty funny: http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/feature/sweetspot/2012/sweetspot
  23. This one is amazing.
  24. That sounds fantastic. TruTV was probably dancing in the streets after they were given the rights to broadcast this. I believe it's owned by Turner, which has broadcast rights to a bunch of the games. ETA: yep, Turner-owned
