  1. if he were to hold his offensive output (.341 wOBA / 115 wRC+), with completely neutral (average) fielding, baserunning, that's still a 3+ win CF/2B
  2. eh, he still could have done that while listing them in a more justifiable order: Russell Bryant Soler Baez Alcantara Almora McKinney Schwarber Tseng Edwards
  3. BleacherNation (Luke Blaize) did their own top 40: http://www.bleachernation.com/2014/07/29/the-2014-bleacher-nation-top-40-prospects-midseason-update/ Tseng over Contra is pretty indefensible and seeing Russell 4th is pretty funny, but nothing else there really offends my sensibilities too much
  4. he spent $30+ million on two middle relievers to be below-replacement-level! i mean, [expletive]
  5. I apologized for bringing up the "lol ned colletti" thing without the requisite number of posts mocking ned colletti (3 or more?). but then everyone else's pavlovian freakout kicked in and all kinds of people starting [expletive] on ned colletti. because he's a very bad GM, even though ownership gives him enough money to spend that it doesn't really matter too much why is it hard to reconcile those two ideas?
  6. not at all. it's just kind of funny to see people snickering at the gm of the best team in baseball while singing the praises of the cubs' front office that has presided over multiple years of garbage. i mean, you really don't see how that seems ridiculous? no, it'd be ridiculous if people were praising our ownership and [expletive] on theirs'...but that doesn't happen and probably never will, here if i go to the store with $1000, i'm probably going to accumulate better [expletive] than the guy who went in with change he dug out from under the couch cushions, but that doesn't necessarily make me some genius shopper
  7. you see, we all lose the right to have any opinions of other teams' actions because we like a team that is bad at the moment
  8. lol, 0.66 xFIP and 0.48 FIP
  9. and for the first time in a while, U-M football can hold its head up high I didn't see Sparty in that mess:) he/she/it was probably tired from partying with Clark
  10. and for the first time in a while, U-M football can hold its head up high
  11. former Astros RF Jason Lane is today's starting pitcher for the Padres; he hit 26 HR in 2005
  12. wow, i admire the effort, i really do, but no way am i reading all that Sickels has Soler top-25 and Bryant #1, so i like him best
  13. Not that I know anything about anything, but Soler always seems too low on these lists to me. he absolutely is, and it doesn't bother me in the slightest he can come up and be awesome (given health) and these guys can act surprised by it, for all i care
  14. Bonifacio is the best HS girls softball player
  15. #karma I have seen this before but don't get it, but then again I don't get the whole hash tag thing anyway. I get that you guys don't like Beliema, but he still gets another year at Ark before I start to really worry. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2013/9/15/4732470/jen-bielema-twitter-karma-wisconsin
  16. Russell with the triple-plus hands
  17. Ryan Raburn lol http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--tCxsY06f--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/uoglllgmplvilig5udf0.gif and never forget
  18. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41YiJKJxaHL.jpg i played this for the first time in my life either last week or the week before, and holy [expletive] is it ever impossible to hit the ball if the other player has half a clue what he/she is doing
  19. Chris Nelson's a pretty stupid baserunner, it seems
  20. Adam Dunn also puts up crazy isoD rates in part due to his Mario Mendoza low averages basically- assuming a constant BB%, with every hit you get, your isoD goes down and isoD also includes HBP; BB rate gives a better picture of plate discipline / patient hitting approach than does isoD, imo
  21. these guys are all going to get promoted in September and we're going to slip so far on the offseason farm system rankings http://cdn.memegenerator.net/images/300x/4238916.jpg
