  2. has this hilarity been posted yet? http://m.mlb.com/news/article/113014540/lyle-spencer-angels-outfielder-mike-trout-tops-list-of-most-coveted-players
  3. Eloy and Vogelbach
  4. haha, Xavier has a rec league stereotype playing C for them
  5. goodness...stop trying to make Niang happen, it's not going to happen
  6. my problem with Ross is the nagging concern about how screwed we'll be if Montero - known to have back issues - goes on an extended DL stint this of course assumes a seemingly inevitable Castillo trade
  7. i mean no, he's not...i guess this is more an irrational rant than anything. i'm so sick of hearing this same thing over and over and i just want to hear one person agree with me other than my friends on nsbb. i only care that reality matches my optimism
  8. i vividly remember that Wood quote, and i'm almost positive it was an opposing manager edt: found it Wood had been the savior-in-waiting since the Cubs took him with the 4th pick of the 1995 draft. He didn’t make the club out of spring training in 1998, but he made an impression. Not long after facing the Cubs that spring, someone asked Angels manager Terry Collins who he thought would win the World Series that year. He didn’t miss a beat and answered, “The Cubs. If the Cubs have five pitchers better than Kerry Wood, they’ll definitely win the World Series.”
  9. evidently, Joc Pederson has "real man power"
  10. some good framing on first-pitch strike to Ethier and Coghlan probably still sucks at defense
  11. did we part with Ryan Roberts on good terms?
  12. is there any reason we shouldn't just flip the draft to autopick after this round is over?
  13. pbp announcer pretty excited by barehanded throw by Olt to get the out Len: "4-star play by Mike Olt"
  14. sounds like Olt just missed one "[he] hit it to the deepest part of the left-center field alley-way"
  15. Castro was like the 10th best SS in the ML last year, let's not get carried away smelling farts. he was the best under-27 SS in MLB last year
  16. i guess i'll just win this thing again A) Stanton B) , C DavisC) Goldschmidt, Springer, Cespedes D) Trumbo, CarGo, Hanley, Harper, Rosario WC) pm'd
  17. if we're at a point that we're so filled up with gifted offensive players that Castro is deemed expendable, we won't even need pitching anymore five Travis Woods would win 18 games apiece the way you people are talking
  18. i guess i worry with it far less with Bryant because he has such a superior grasp of the strike zone it really mitigates those concerns- he'll force pitchers back into the zone...but assuming no improvements for contact, he's what, Chris Carter (.222/.313/.459) at 3B? that's still about a 2.5-3 WAR player picking Soler vs. Bryant, probably a dead heat since i still expect Bryant to end up in the OF sooner rather than later but Soler has more durability concerns
  19. illuminati
  20. spoilered for size it really makes you think
  21. DIRECTIVE 4: PROTECT THE SHIELD
  22. Adam Schefter is a shameless errand boy
  23. his ADP is 148th, but his ZiPS isn't really much different than Donaldson (ADP: 21), so it really boils down to how much you want to ensure getting him Bryant vs. Donaldson 82/26/91/ 7/.265 (147 G) 91/29/96/10/.256 (132 G)
  24. Eloy & Zagunis
