  1. Phil Coke throwing to David Ross, i guess this isn't a game we want to win
  2. You're telling people you know better than them and then changing the issue when they're asking you to show your work. It's bizarre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overconfidence_effect
  3. That's the "Hmm, maybe you should start listening to people who understand contact rate and what it means better than you" argument. But you won't, and that's OK I guess. Lead a horse to water and all. It's pretty breathtaking that you found a way to take a topic that we directionally agreed on(Junior Lake is not good) but not necessarily in magnitude and extrapolate it into intellectual superiority over a tangential and much broader topic. Well done. I'm *trying* to get you to listen and not do the condescending "lol, Kyle being Kyle" [expletive], because there's an interesting discussion to be had. But you turned it into yet another NSBB [expletive] riff, just like you did then. Don't start the condescension if you don't want it thrown back. And you did this by posting this: I'm telling myself it's SSS combined with he appears to be affected by the cold more than other guys But velocity off the bat! "i'm right and you're wrong" ... "why doesn't anybody want to have meaningful conversation with me???"
  4. I love how it never even occurs to you that I might understand the issue better than you do. Remember when I tried to explain to you that all those things Junior Lake was doing well were flukes? Fluke, fluke, unsustainable fluke, yes. yeah, there i argued he would be a high BABIP player and he has a .331 career BABIP and ZiPS projects him for a .331 BABIP which is 95th percentile
  5. ok show me right here and now where it supports what you're saying about speed-off-bat data i'll leave you some time for quick, hopeful Googling Not my job. If someone wants to assert that velocity off the bat predicts future success, and I doubt it, it's not on me to disprove it. and there it is.
  6. you're transparently conflating LD-rate* analysis from years back with this argument, which has no bearing on this discussion *a stat which can view Aaron Miles and vintage Pujols in equal light
  7. ok show me right here and now where it supports what you're saying about speed-off-bat data i'll leave you some time for quick, hopeful Googling
  8. Soler's in 93rd percentile of steamer ROS HR per PA or as i like to call that, "good"
  9. Speaking of people who were condescending [expletive] in the Junior Lake argument who might have learned a lesson but are instead doubling down on their ignorance... i made a well-reasoned post that basically said if he makes good adjustments he can be Starling Marte and if he doesn't he can be (at the time) BJ Upton, the latter of which unfortunately happened it's not my fault you're so bad at reading comprehension / understanding nuanced viewpoints
  10. i'm really just trying to get you to say as many stupid things as possible to laugh at later on
  11. fully agreed. http://persephonemagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/chris-rock-huh-face.gif
  12. it really is too bad Junior Lake didn't become the sure-fire superstar that TT guaranteed he'd be fwiw, there's a strong likelihood the NL ROY will have a contact rate in the low-mid 60s this year
  13. not paying close enough attention to know if this is relevant, but it's funny and always applicable @JeffMossDSR Letting Phil Coke face a right handed hitter is the equivalent of letting your child play with a pit bull who hasn't eaten in two weeks.
  14. yeah who ever knew Phil Coke/Edwin Jackson/Brian Schlitter/rehabbing Jason Motte couldn't be trusted
  15. how should he do that (besides removing the extraneous and [expletive] pitcher(s) from the roster)? i wouldn't oppose giving one of these to Rafael Soriano http://www.zeriva.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Cisco-has-a-%E2%80%9CBlank-Check%E2%80%9D-for-Network-Security-Strategy.jpg
  16. Hendricks could have surrendered like 4 straight HR and it still wouldn't be this aggravating
  17. i would very much like to hear an answer for why Hendricks is perceived as being a delicate little flower who can't endure more than a half-game's worth of effort
