  1. cubs as a team, home= 323 obp/420 slg cubs as a team, away= 317obp/415slg educated. I don't see what that proves. Pierre's legs are what gets him a lot of infield singles. Cold weather hurts that aspect of his game, big time, which isn't the case for the majority of the team, which doesn't largely depend on speed to get a base hit. I don't get it. Pierre's not getting thrown out by half a step in half his at bats, he's just making outs all over the place. He's getting thrown out by 1/2 a step in quite a few of his ABs. he's making outs all over the place? The difference between his .286 OBP and a reasonable OBP of .350 is about 5 hits over 79 AB (taking 1-2 more walks). You noticed that? It's like one more hit every four games. He's not really making outs all over the place.
  2. someone get abuck a gold star asap. I've got a cookie for him. Chocolate Chip. Scratch or out of the package?

  5. I don't think anyone expected Miller back before June.

  8. Oh really, i thought he was a power hitter or something. Youre telling me that Juan Pierre isnt a homerun hitter? Man I am SHOCKED. I dont even know what to say, up is now down, left is now right, right is now wrong, my whole life has just been turned upside down by your stunning revelation. I just want him to get the ball past the second baseman, groundball, linedrive, something. I don't remember running over your dog. :?
  9. hairston really doesn't know how to get himself playing time, does he?
  10. omg. ronny just got run down by a catcher. embarrassing
  11. Fast forward the same situation 5 innings. Why does one run later mean more than one run now? A run is a run; I'll take one in whatever inning I can get it in. Do you know that there's a better chance of a runner scoring from first with none out than it is for a runner to score from 2nd with 1 out? I didn't know that. Is that a proven fact? Yep. The Run Expectancy (Avg. number of runs scored in an inning from a given base-out state) is 0.953 with no outs and a runner on first and 0.725 with one out and a runner on second. What is it with the wind blowing in from LC at Wrigley?
  12. Toothpick? a.k.a. Marshall That I know, I just hadn't heard the nickname and didn't know where it came from. me
  13. Dontrelle is a tough lefty. Pierre doesn't normally strike out pierre caught willis on the side regularly when he was in florida. he shouldn't be getting fooled like he is, especially after watching the guy pitch for years.
  14. come on, pierre. you should be the last guy with 2 Ks on the night.
