  1. Actually in that thread most of GRB's best posters defended you.
  2. Jason Marquis has been an above avg starter (ERA+ wise) for the Cubs. He's earned his contract.
  3. Cesar Izturis beats the fear out of you. He toughens you up.
  4. Can we move this forum under "General Baseball Discussion"? It gets a little lost under "Site Suggestions". Thanks!
  5. I'm sure Yankees fans are going to be very supportive.
  6. Hey, hey, hey... we're just teasing Pit like the Cubs did with San Fran today. this is all going as planned.
  7. The problem with challenging Kosuke is that he can drive pitches, especially on the inner half. He has enough power to hit gappers and home runs when he gets pitches on the inner and middle portions of the strike zone, especially pitches that are thigh-high and above in the zone. I think most of MLB would agree with this but his below avg ISO (.128) is telling me a different story. Maybe he'll make adjustments and add more power. He's an interesting player to watch.
  8. Admittedly I have not watched Kosuke much this year but I do wonder if he can keep walking this much given his lack of power. At some point I'd think MLB pitchers will start challenging him more.
  9. Does this guy know that Edmonds wanted to stay in St Louis? This is true... sorta... although Edmonds loved playing in STL he asked to be traded after he found out he might be moved from CF and his playing time wasn't guaranteed. Oh and Bernie a fat pig drama queen hack.
  10. So depressing...
  11. Not to beat this to death, but how is this different from someone pasting a youtube link on NSBB? What I posted above is basically the same thing.
  12. Is embedding a video different from pasting the link? I'm pretty sure there isn't a difference. Yes. Embedding the video means that the video loads in the forum. Pasting a link gives you the choice of whether or not you want to view it. I'm confused. All of the major video sites, you have to click on the embedded videos to get them to play. They don't play automatically. Correct - it doesn't play automatically. The most popular phpbb3 youtube tag just inserts youtube via flash. I've never heard of any work blocking issues using this tag, but I can understand not wanting to risk it. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/{TEXT}"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/{TEXT}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

  14. He's getting ready for the press conference... http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n235/maddash1946/edmonds.jpg
  15. Good question. I don't think there's enough space in the Cubs clubhouse for all of them. In all seriousness seeing Jimmy in a Cubs uniform would be depressing.
  16. Who is this guy? Are you saying my timing is curious? Perhaps. No, just wondering what happened to you. Ah, I've been busy with my job and another msg board. I still lurk quite a bit.
  17. Who is this guy? Are you saying my timing is curious? Perhaps.
  18. I thought this article was pretty interesting. FWIW I think baseball is more fun when both teams are playing well.
  19. That was a long time ago. The Yankees philosophy has evolved.
  20. #-o  Wow... The strangest part of all these rumors is that the package got worse and worse as time wore on. Typically, and especially once other players are no longer available due to free agent signings or trades that have already happened, teams get a little more spendy to ensure they get what they want. Why on Earth would the Yankees turn down that deal? I don't think their heart was ever in to committing that much money to a pitcher. As long as he's not headed to Boston they're happy.
  21. Fair enough, I guess we disagree on this point, but I can understand your thinking.
