  1. Agh, I wanted desperately to see Soler there with a chance to tie. Matheny might have been stupid enough to leave Reyes in, too.
  2. That swing by Lester was incredible. Looked absolutely beautiful.
  3. Schwarber dongs in the 2016 playoffs and I'm getting a hooker.
  4. Exactly
  5. Yeah, I'm not sure it's a joke anymore. What #s would prime Maddux put up right now? Kyle is right there. Bonkers. Even if this is the best season of his career, I just can't see him ever completely falling off. Please pitch into your 50's, Kyle, and break all the records.
  6. Any ideas why Eloy hasn't played in a week?
  7. Schworge (Schwoler?) is going to be a thing next year, I feel it. Bryzzo and Schworge and Contrussel? I dunno.
  8. lol @ the look on the other guys face when Dero says "honey hole"
  9. Love it. I'll set the o/u at 4 dongs.
  10. I admit I'm out on the fringes a bit with regards to Soler, but I think he's going to be an MVP level bat from this point. Just watching each PA and seeing the adjustments he's made.. a lot of guys figure out how to identify and lay off the offspeed stuff off the edge but they sacrifice hard contact % in the zone. Jorge looks like he can do it without the sacrifice.
  11. My #1 takeaway from these conversations is that we're all spoiled as hell. Age 24 seasons: Sosa .261/.309/.485, 5.9/21.1 BB/K%, .343 wOBA Soler .252/.342/.459 10.9/22.3 BB/K% .345 wOBA No room in the lineup for you! Really though, don't trade this man.
  12. Jorge has a better walk rate and lower K rate than Bryant. Javy is a completely different beast. I trade neither. Candelario has a .900 OPS in AAA at 22. Eloy is a top 50 prospect. There is value there. Hitters on the farm now exist to be moved. We can get a cost-controlled starter without damaging the major league lineup.
  13. Jorge's BABIP is still way below his career norm. He's going to be Godzilla with a baseball bat.
  14. "Heyward canned" is what I'm waiting for.
  15. Coghlan is hitting, like, .700 off of Leake, so I figured he'd be in there.
  16. Didn't realize the '15 Blue Jays +210 RD was the most in quite awhile. Let's pass that today.
  17. I want the imperial march for our dong song for the next 5 years. I want the same association I used to get with the final countdown and Jordan crushing souls.
  18. Ive been telling them all along, George. Remember.
  19. This season is peaking for me right at this moment.
  20. I'm aware of the hangover effect, I just think it's been exaggerated because of those tough road parks you mentioned. The Rockies have played 19 of their 113 games so far @ SD @SF and @ LAD. Of course those teams have to play even more games in bad hitting environments. Home/Away OPS Cargo 1.117/.760 Story 1.086/ .746 Arenado 1.072/ .788 Lemahieu 1.049/ .676 Mark Reynolds .874/ .700 Blackmon .892/.816 (!) I get that it's not completely black and white here, but if you want an MVP, you can't get almost all your numbers at home in the greatest hitting environment ever by arguing that you have to play 30 games in tough parks. (for what it's worth, Arenado has done pretty well in those parks this year).
  21. Arenado and his .788 road OPS needs to be stricken from the conversation. Frankly, all Colorado stats need an asterisk. DJ LeMahieu has an .867 OPS for crying out loud. Of course, it's only .676 away from Coors. Story has a .746 OPS on the road. Bench players put up all-star caliber numbers and borderline all-stars look like MVPs. As a team, they have an .891 OPS at home, leading MLB. On the road it's .683, good for 27th. I believe that would be the biggest split in MLB history.
