  1. Why did we have to go back to the clipart crest? The Centennial one was perfect.
  2. The novelty wore off pretty quickly; this is like watching Brasil and Germany play a World Cup game on a beach instead of a field.
  3. Bradley, Ream and Mix out for the game on Wednesday. Bradley with a knock, Ream withdrew because he just had a son, and Mix because his club is claiming a fake injury that Mix himself is calling BS on. Clint probably played the best game of the entire loan today. He really should have scored early.
  4. Don Garber: The Best Commissioner In Sports. Even if the league sometimes plays Calvinball with its player acquisition rules.
  5. Who's Morale?
  6. And it's going to turn out to be Crane Kenney in disguise.
  7. In interest of confidentiality, let's juts call her Beth M That's too obvious...let's say, oh, B. Murphy.
  8. Note that they couldn't even get those cool ceremonial scissors; they just ran to Dollar Tree and grabbed a pair.
  9. Sometimes I just want to hit him upside the head. Lack of desire and belief isn't the issue. Landon is the only player you can fairly put that on. Deuce and MB actually did it, hit their ceiling and then were offered more money than they could turn down. Tim Howard did it and has absolutely nothing to prove to anyone. What on earth would it prove for a 35 year old Tim Howard to try and latch on with a champions league team again? Nothing. Does nothing to make him a better player and he's probably going to retire from the national team anyway. What [expletive] top 4 club in Italy, Germany or Spain is going to want Jozy? Good lord. Possibly the two worst examples he could list but for some reason he's afraid to call out Deuce and MB. It's clear that the young generation wants to try and will probably succeed. Guzan, Aron Johansson, Junior Flores, Julian Green, Gedion Zelalem, Luis Gil and a bunch of other guys about to make the leap. Those Americans would be doing well to have as much desire as Clint [expletive] Dempsey and Michael Bradley. Agreed. I can't imagine how much having to listen to JK must infuriate Bradley.

  11. Although a day late to celebrate Groundhog Day, Vela is apparently not going to the World Cup, because Mexico. I'm almost surprised they even offered him. Do you have a link for that quote?
  12. The hell? So basically he's never ever going to play for Mexico.
  13. I'm a little annoyed that we're giving so much time to guys who have a limited ceiling and not immediately putting Gil and Yedlin in.
  14. Perfectly primed for Yedlin to come into the game and make an impression.
  15. This is a nice change from usual January friendlies, since that's nearly the 1st choice defense out there, LD and Zusi are potential starters and Mix is a rotational player.
  16. Step one starts tonight. LD playing underneath the striker, Mix in the #8 spot.
  17. Not saying this in an insulting way, since that opinion isn't crazy, but for reference: Rizzo outhit Vogelbach in Low A at a younger age right after he was diagnosed with cancer. Plus there's a canyon between them in terms of defensive value. I'll admit I don't have a lot of objective evidence to back the opinion up; it's just a feeling. I just don't get the feeling that Rizzo is going to be a lot better than he currently is offensively.
  18. Fair enough; you see my point, though.
  19. I'm really puzzled that Almora is still so highly thought of despite being at a really low level, and barely playing in 2013 due to injury. Also, I'm going to reiterate my belief that Dan Vogelbach will be a better player than Anthony Rizzo, and I hope the FO doesn't just view him as trade bait only. Finally, if I had to order the position players, I think Baez, Bryant, and Vogelbach are the ones that are most likely to be everyday players, and Soler the least likely.
  20. NSBB has a great history of posters interviewing people in the public eye, such as Senator Nancy Pelosi.
  21. [expletive]. They probably think they can get more than $1m by holding onto him and selling him in a couple years when he's developed further. Absolutely. I'd just rather Juve develop him than KC, as much respect as I have for Vermes and his organization, but there I go again putting country over club. True. Although a minor silver lining for country would be him training with Besler and having some early familiarity with what it takes to be an NT caliber player.

  23. Yeah, I'm sure the general counsel of the Tribune Co. was responsible for negotiating a deal with the rooftops 2 years before he joined the Tribune Co. He's clearly history's greatest monster.
  24. Or, it would have to outweigh the bad press of having a terrible team and being unable to renovate your own stadium.
  25. I don't disagree; I feel like there has to be something missing, because on the surface its ridiculous that the Cubs are so terrified of bad PR or a lawsuit brought by Beth Murphy.
