  1. This is a stupid list. Hendry is terrible, but not near Jim Bowden terrible. Dayton Moore shouldn't even be ranked-has he been on the job for a full season yet?
  2. To be honest, I didn't see any contact by the WR running the slant on the CB. It wasn't close to a pick play.
  3. At least both of them answered "no".
  4. Luol still has some serious gaps in his game, though. He cannot handle the ball well at all, and he can't shoot from behind the arc. Defensively, he's solid, but again, you have Noc and Thomas right there. Does trading from a strength like that make your team better overall? I like Deng a lot, but you have to think that Gasol (who's not exactly old) might make the team better overall.
  5. Don't do it. Luol Deng is pretty close to Pau right now and is the one getting better. Is he? He's definetly improved, but is he so much better than Noc or Thomas that we wouldn't give him up for a low post scoring threat? I think so, I could be wrong. I just think it is a young team. Let the team grow together. If anything they need to trade one of the two combo guards and get a real point or a big two. Isn't Thabo that guy, though? I don't know we still get abused by the Nets. A team we are better at except for one important spot. I know he needs more time to grow, but if we are watining for him we might as well stay pat and see what the three small forwards become before we move one of them. Our being abused by the Nets has as much to do with cold outside shooting and bad rebounding as it does the matchup with Gordon guarding Kidd or Carter. Gasol helps that. Also, having Thabo in the game on Kidd or Carter would help as well, but that's a Skiles issue.

  8. I'm not sure how I would feel about a trade for Gasol. If it's just Deng/Knicks pick/Brown for Gasol, I'm ok with it. If it's going to include Thomas or Gordon I don't think I'd make the trade.
  9. Turner needs to call pass plays that are a bit higher percentage. Has he learned nothing from 17 games of Rex this season? He's a rythym passer. Get him in a good rythym, good things happen. Let him chuck the ball all over, bad things happen.
  10. Short pass plays.. screen them if you have to. Yeah, use the tight ends and backs a little bit. Stuff like that to get him in a groove. If he gets on track, we're winning this game.
  11. Rex looks jittery. It would be nice to see some pass plays called to get him in a rythym. Great D and special teams, last drive notwithstanding.
  12. Bears 23 Saints 21 reverse reverse jinx.
  13. Would it be better if I wrote that Kenny Cooper is slow as hell and almost got caught from behind after being sent thru with about 15 yards to spare? yes. Consider it said. He's not an international forward. He has zero speed. He nearly got caught and hung onto the ball far too long before shooting.

  15. And look what happens when they finally decide to do that, a goal. Amazing how that works isn't it. I know! Imagine what would happen if all our players decided to take the game to their opponent? Thankfully, this is not the roster that will start qualifying for 2010. I'll be interested to see if Demspey and Gooch will be available for the game vs Mexico in a couple weeks. This was not a good effort. Eddie Johnson was terrible...again. I wasn't terribly impressed with anyone in the midfield. Donovan was erratic...again, and Mastroeni wasn't all that good either, although Donovan was miscast and playing with terrible forwards, and Mastroeni had to make up for Clark being out of position all game long. I'm wondering if Johnson should even be in the USMNT's long term plans. He's just not the same player he looked like a couple years ago. Our pool of forwards is awfully thin.
  16. Really bad 1st half for the US. Nothing's changed since last summer-you still have a roster full of players unwilling to attack defenders.
  17. God help us all if he's cut and available as a FA.
  18. I hope Indy beats New England like 35-0. Nothing would make me happier than to see Manning absolutely light up the NE secondary.
  19. Bears 24 Seattle 10. reverse reverse jinx
  20. Urine is a sterile liquid, so it's not that big of a risk to reach in and grab it.
  21. That's my concern. They just gave one guy more money than the rest of the league makes all together. That's an incredibly risky move for a player on the decline. I really don't like this move. For $50m annually? That could have bought you probably 6 other players from Europe under the Beckham Rule that probably help 6 different markets more than Beckham helps the league. I don't think this signing means MLS is going to attract top talent. We can't even keep our top talent here. You're telling me European and South American talent are going to ignore going to Serie A, the EPL and La Liga just because Beckham is here? I don't buy it. The league has no idea how to officiate technically sound players. He's going to take a bloody beating from oafish defenders. This move just doesn't make any sense beyond marketing to casual fans who are going to go see him once, and then walk away wondering what the fuss was about.
  22. So how long until the national media start hyping up "Bear Weather"?
  23. Honestly, I figured it would be more. You're asking an international superstar to come to a fledgling league in a country where soccer is little more than an afterthought. I think the contract will pay off for LA, and I'm already making plans now to fly to LA to see Becks play. I can't wait. I'd probably check out a Fire-Galaxy game, so they're already selling tickets. Where the hell is the Galaxy getting $250 million, is the MLS paying a huge chunk of it? Maybe Roman Abramovich is buying the Galaxy too. Isn't a lot of it going to be AEG's money? I would hope, anyway...
  24. That's 5x what Real paid for him 3 years ago.
