I hope France get bounced just to get FIFA back for seeding this at the last minute. Greece/Ukraine is going to be a good one. The others won't be close.

Conor Casey is on my ish list for not taking a touch and scoring an absolute sitter....just as the clock hit the 9th minute. That would have been awesome. Instead, it was a fricking howler. I'm not liking this business of 2 of our best players at their positions getting hurt thing. Holden isn't ready to start. He should play the Aaron Lennon WC2006 role and come on for Clint next summer. Benny had a poor game. Torres looked really good in the center of the pitch. We should use Camp Cupcake to try him with Mikey. Costa Rica shouldn't have had any business winning that game. We should have blown them out, but our finishing was U-14 esque. Adrain Healy should be the PBP guy from now on. Even Harkes kept the stupid in check last night. Finally, congrats to Honduras. They deserved the automatic spot, and with the way their players and fans showed pure class last weekend, I would say it's a just reward.

Remember, the UEFA playoffs are seeded according to FIFA ranking. You won't see the powerhouses having to play each other. Also, Holland won't be ahead of the US for a seed, because IIRC they missed out on WC2002. Their lack of seed-ness will likely result in a Holland/Ivory Coast/USA/Brasil group.

If I were running the USSF, I'd be sure to play a good African team before I bothered for the money grab that would be an England friendly.

Is that game on anywhere? I kind of want Argentina to lose. Maradona's incompetence is overshadowing the fact that they don't have a very good defense. Who was their last top flight fullback?
