  1. He's not the only one. IIRC both Yankees and Red Sox ownership have bought small chunks of ownership of a couple teams in Europe. I've never heard that about the Yankees, but John Henry from the Red Sox owns a huge piece of Liverpool FC. The Glazer family (TB Bucs) owns the majority of Manchester United. I think the Yankees have some sort of co marketing deal with United as well.
  2. If Billy Beane doesn't like the gap between the rich teams and the poor teams in MLB, he's gonna hate top level club soccer.
  3. SSFC just violated defending CCL champs Monterrey in Mexico with a reserve lineup against their A team. LOVE MLS
  4. Kaplan's lending a hand, probably.
  5. I don't think it's a stretch to say we have the absolute worst media of anywhere in the country. Williston, ND Touche good sir
  6. I don't think it's a stretch to say we have the absolute worst media of anywhere in the country.
  7. B/c you are more in tune w/ the league than them? Id like to know what questions you asked Hendry during his press conference on Friday. Strawman is made of straw.
  8. No, no one else is unable to think critically.
  9. I agree with you. Tim Ream, as much as I think he's a long term answer, isn't remotely ready for the Prem. Can you imagine him trying to track Luis Suarez or check Wayne Rooney? Yeesh. Omar Gonzalez would be a better buy from MLS in central defense as he's at least physical enough for the EPL and has improved his distribution out of the back immensely. If he really wants to bargain shop for Americans that fill needs they have, he should look at Josh Gatt and Mix. Also, obligatory "Clint Dempsey would fit in there nicely" post. Love the Cascadia games...Eric Hassli was a fantastic buy for MLS.
  10. Perfect.
  11. Bring back Dusty? No, not some pissant rant from a manager or coach. I'm talking about someone in the front office pointing out that Ramirez has been our best player since 2004 and he doesn't deserve the heaps of craps he gets dished at him.
  12. It would be nice if at some point someone in our organization came out and torched idiots like Kaplan and Hollandsworth for their awful, incorrect and racist statements. I seem to remember Theo Epstein putting some jackasses on blast on WEEI over JD Drew a few years back.
  13. I'm surprised Nowak wants him back. Chivas USA are such a terribly run team. They've now passed on Feihaber and Adu. RE: last night the only two guys I rated were Shea and Agudelo. Shea has a chance to be very good. That first half was some of the worst soccer we've played this year, and that's saying something.
  14. I'm not sure what this means for FSC and ESPN's MLS coverage or USMNT coverage, but it's great news. Higher production value and more games televised nationally. I'm very excited. It;s a massive step. $10m a year for 3 years, and then a rebid right around a World Cup?
  15. Per Goff Chandler and Nurnburg committed to both September friendlies in exchange for missing this one
  16. God I love the PDX fanbase.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-r6FKjNryU&feature=player_embedded Hahahahaha
  18. That's why our teams suck right there.
  19. Of course they are. He was a nice quote and gave them all access.
  20. It's telling when Hendry says something that makes a lot of sense and people still piss and moan about it.
  21. Kreutz gone 6 years too late. I can't wait for him to botch snaps and be a locker room lawyer somewhere else.
  22. -I think he's a cheerleader and a salesman, not a tactician. Low did the heavy lifting in Germany 2006, and if it weren't for Jose Pekerman outcoaching himself they don't get past Argentina in 2006. His stint at Bayern was tactically horrible. Wolf once mentioned they tossed out a 0-8-2 in a game. Yeah, FC Hollywood's management is godawful and somewhat a mitigating factor, but he wasn't good there. This move probably succeeds or fails based on who his assistants are. It's also going to be interesting to see who is named the captain.
  23. Your veiled racism is getting old and stupid. You offer nothing of value to this board. Your posts are all awful.
  24. I know it's a fait accompli that its going to be Juergen, but I'm very wary of him.
