  1. In Chicago?
  2. Maybe he wished hard enough and his body rejected the injury.
  3. For those of us who dont get BeIn, no change.
  4. I wouldn't be happy, either. The Sarajevo of the Midwest.
  5. Oh, if only.
  6. Dammit I made that same joke today on FB
  7. Great start. I liked the patience on the 2nd.
  8. And yet Belgium will continue to be Netherlands Jr. and underachieve internationally ;)
  9. I took my daughter to her first MLS game tonight-she'd been to US games, but this was the first Fire game. Aside from the fact she had fun and all, let me tell you something about MLS officials: It's one thing to see them be awful on TV, but you only see what the camera shows you live and on replay. It's entirely different live-a whole new world of bad. Both Fire goals came off completely blown offsides calls, and in both cases the AR was 20 yards behind the play when the diagonal balls were played. I don't know how that happens in a major league, and that's not getting into the inconsistency of the center official. Also, I'd like to someday kick Mayor Daley right in the minerals for brokering the idiotic bond deal with Bridgeview instead of building Toyota Park next to US Cellular. Bridgeview is a disaster to get to if you don't live in Berkeley or Riverside or some other godforsaken place, and it's the single biggest reason I haven't pulled the trigger on season tickets yet
  10. Yeah, refusing to play doesn't sound like Clint's MO. This is probably either an issue starting at Fulham's board, or with Jol himself. Like you said, he pulled this crap at Spurs, too.
  11. Oh F me...reports out of Liverpool say LFC no longer has interest in Dempsey.
  12. I don't get why Jol is the douche/bad guy in this saga. Because I seriously doubt Clint has refused to play. Jol is trying to force an end to this, and by publicly ripping on a guy who's been your best player for 3 years and been a solid club servant for 5 is a dick move. If Clint absolutely wanted out, he could have handed in a transfer request. He made it clear he wanted Champion's League play, but that's him being honest, not him stomping his feet and holding his breath until he gets his way.
  13. So apparently the Dempsey transfer saga just went [expletive] crazy, with Martin Jol absolutely throwing Clint and LFC under the bus, claiming Clint just ran his mouth saying he was leaving, but LFC never actually made an offer. So, Jol torpedoed any leverage Dempsey had, and probably hurt any leverage FFC had as well. So, basically, Clint at FFC is done, thanks to this douche Dutchman.
  14. Probably this. Also, given the speed at which Comcast does things (we still don't get FSC in HD), I'll probably get Bein sports in 2018.
  15. Did anyone else see Donovan's musing about retiring in 2013? He reads like a depressed emo kid in that interview.
  16. The idiots in the media probably hate him because he's pompous and arrogant, and this has probably come across every time they've had to deal with him. So, in other words, they're taking the fact that he's a tool to them, and using that to justify hating on him like he's Buck Nasty at every single opportunity.
  17. Jesus, the media in this town absolutely sucks.
  18. Between us and them? I think it remains. That was about half their regulars, sorta trying, in a half full stadium. They still dominated us. I'm thrilled we won, happy we broke our duck in that hellhole, and can't wait for next summer, but if you put both's side's A roster out there in Azteca in a WCQ, right now, they're better.
  19. Did you see the post-match interview? He stopped just short of saying "I have no idea how we got that lucky aside from having Tim Howard". Yeah, I picked up on that. It was hopefully revealing, because that midfield we rolled out there was really bad, and I only saw Geoff Cameron stand out amongst the starters, and Shea amongst the subs
  20. I just hope Klinsmann doesn't draw the wrong conclusions from this completely surprising, unbelievable result.
  21. Wolf is undoubtedly pantsless, yelling obscenities in the general direction of the AZ/Mexico border.
  22. This. Also, the Azteca game in the Hex just got real. Like, violent real.
  23. Shea, who's been AWOL and/or bad all year, megs a defender, cuts it back to an 18 year old playing in the Austrian league, who backheels it to a guy who's fricking hot garbage on his best day. Javier Hernandez beefs a clear chance, has another deflection palmed away, and has a third clear header somehow palmed out. They had like 65% possession. We started and subbed in a bunch of scrubs. Unreal.
  24. How the hell did Howard save that?
  25. Neither team is, but Mexico has far more of their 1st team playing than we did. We have maybe 3 regular starters out there currently.
