  1. Houston just couldn't match the big 3....Keane and Gonzalez played out of their minds; clearly the best two players on the field. Kind of, sort of wish Becks had taken the 2nd PK there at the end. Deserved title....but if they stick with this homefield format next year, how badass would a final with Portland, Seattle or SKC in it be?
  2. LOL Chelsea. They got completely overrun by West Ham in the 2nd half. Badly.
  3. Watching Fernando Torres move off the ball is depressing. Take him out behind the back and shoot him like a horse, already.
  4. The goal is to get good for a long time. Overpaying to get good can sabotage that very easily. Trying to brush that aside as though it doesn't matter is misguided, to say the least. How can you possibly say you don't give a crap if they overpay for talent? There are finite resources being used to acquire talent. We have the resources of a major market team and a front office that should be able to properly scout draft picks, as opposed to the clown car of failure we had prior to last offseason. If they can't manage to do both, then they're all massively overrated as front office types. I honestly don't believe how people are still buying this whole "we'll blow for a couple more years, but then most of the guys we draft won't flame out and will all hit the majors at the same time, while simultaneously we'll have a second pool of non flameout prospects to deal for hypothetical trade targets" thing.
  5. God forbid we deviate from the current "suck for the next 3 or 4 years plan until all our prospects get good at the same time" plan. I could give a crap if they "overpay" to get good. The goal is to get good. It's the collection of geniuses' job to continue to bring good players in via draft and IFA while getting and being good.
  6. The way Spurs play makes me long for Fulham
  7. I know he took a rebound right off his foot earlier, because he's the worst possible teammate ever.
  8. My kingdom for a Dempsey brace today.
  9. Re-sign Ramirez Sign a couple of useful veteran relief pitchers to get the bullpen to average Put the best players on the roster from day one (see ya, Clevenger, Mather, Volstad). That'll get you to.500 right there, and you can still do the Rizzo trade and the Marshall trade and sign Soler and draft Almora. Who are these veteran relievers? And again, if those things happened, congrats you've won half your games, don't have Pierce Johnson, Arodys Vizcaino, Christian Villanueva, went from picking 2nd in this draft and IFA budget to probably in the 15-18 range, missed the playoffs, and have two seasons of Aramis Ramirez to show for it moving forward. Oh no, surely we would not have been able to replace those 3 players with any other combination of decent prospects had we done the bright thing and not set out to be terrible.
  10. I don't think Jeffrey Loria gives a damn about PR. Baez, Vogelbach, Barney, Castillo, and we take back Nolasco for additional salary relief.
  11. Yup, he checks all the favorite athlete boxes: -Really good yet somehow underrated -Gets the meatball faction all worked up -Openly disdains the media.

    NFL Week 11

SF's front seven are just ridiculously good.

    NFL Week 11

This is the same jackassed ref that couldn't properly judge that Cutler didn't cross the line of scrimmage two weeks ago. There wasn't anything conclusive about those angles, and now he's going to drag the chains back?

  15. And hit the bar immediately prior to the assist to Bale. His most complete game thus far.
  16. Ay ay ay...as awesome as Marshall has been this year, that's like his 3rd dropped TD right?
  17. Hahahaha. Jay hates Kellen Davis
  18. That offensive line is theoretical only at this point.
  19. He was clearly run into. He tried to sold it to not effect. Good thing to focus on. Huge deal in this game. Easy, tiger: That said...it was a pretty funny dive.
  20. He is the only punter that drops when his leg gets hit. He held his leg out like an extra 2 seconds waiting for contact and then he was only sort of hit in the kicking leg. I love soccer; I know a good dive when I see it.
  21. Yeah, that was De Rossi bad right there.
  22. Huh. Interesting.
  23. Matt Barkley looks like that [expletive] who hits on your girlfriend at the bar. And I don't care if ND ends up holding on, not running Riddick at the goal line on that 3rd down was [expletive]. And given that I don't want my friend MR to have a simultaneous heart attack/stroke, I'd prefer they hold on.
  24. Jesus. LOL USC.
