  1. The NL is definitely down this year. That being said, it's gonna be fun and wide open. All playoff teams under 95 wins?
  2. Lanky vs. Fatty, who wins? I'll pick lanky. Go Cubs! Prediction: Murton 2/2 2 HR 3 BB 4 RBI
  3. This isn't good at all. I was hoping he could rebound and get back into form but this probably sets him back. But, why not a little lightheartedness, DOPE SNAP
  4. I think Ponson is perfectly capable of helping Jacque out.
  5. He's reminding me more and more of Corey Patterson everyday. Felix Pie watch last 2 days: 5/8, 2 SB, 2B and an outfield assist
  6. and a 72 oz. steak for dinner
  7. Wow, great move, Dusty. NOW DONT YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN! Ehh, we can only hope
  8. 3rd game in and I'm already cursing out Neifi and Baker. Just win. Hopefully he can save us again.
  9. It's probably a mistake. Maybe he was added to another teams 40-man and it just got put on the wrong team page.
  10. I got an econ class til 1:55. I'll probably be able to check the score when things are wrapping up, and if its not a complete blowout I'll probably take my humanities class off and run to the car.
  11. The pen does need help and they harnessed Cotts' talent by putting him in there, but McCarthy has more upside than Cotts did as a starter. This only makes a ton of sense if they were planning on keeping McCarthy as a reliever for a few more years, which isn't a good idea IMO. All this for an old guy with only a small sample of success? This is a poor use of payroll unless you have an unlimited budget.
  12. I still always think about Kerry's fielding of a comebacker behind the back in game 1 of the NLDS whenever I see a ball go back up the middle. That whole playoff trip was filled with magic and it definitely felt like they were going all the way. Go Cubs! Get back there this year please!
  13. Gosh darn school! Is it worth not going? Still contemplating.
  14. During the game last night Hendry said if all goes to plan Wood will be back 'in about 30 days' I guess you can take from that what you like.
  15. NL WEST: DBACKS NL CENTRAL: CUBS NL EAST: METS NL WILD CARD: CARDINALS AL WEST: A'S AL CENTRAL: INDIANS AL EAST: YANKEES AL WILD CARD: WHITE SOX NLCS: CUBS OVER METS IN 6 ALCS: INDIANS OVER A'S IN 7 WORLD SERIES: ALL STAR GAME WINNER IN 7
  16. Hairston is the Remlinger of batters. his splits are better against righties. I also think Walker has improved against lefties in recent years and doesn't really need a platoon partner, and actually being a bit of a mike remlinger himself.
  17. Isn't players with a specific role what you want at the end of your bench. Pagan brings good speed and is respectable at the plate for a 25th man.
  18. Would there still have to be a 40-man roster cut for Restovich AND Miller to get on there?
  19. Seriously, what does he offer this team besides the mythical "veteran presence?" It's certainly not offense or defense...or speed. And there are backup OFers who can offer each of those who could be left off the roster b/c of some allegiance from Dusty to all the 'proven' guys.
  20. Maddux looking good this spring. If him and Zambrano are on, I think April can be survived as long as Williams and Rusch don't completely blow up.
  21. TAKE A PITCH. If Grissom makes the team, I won't be surprised, more dissapointed.
