  1. Yeah, I've caught them a few times on MLB Extra innings, and it's a pretty good crew compared to a lot of others.
  2. I'll say it's just ridiculous for a guy to have that kind of stuff and that kind of feel for pitching. Unfair. VERY rare that you seen a guy who has a great slider AND a great curveball. His ability to throw both as strikeout pitches, while varying the speeds on each, is just sick. And when you combine that with a 96-mph four-seam fastball that has great movement and a low 90s two-seamer with even better movement... well, that's a Hall of Fame type arsenal, IMHO. Sounds like Kerry Wood circa 1998. We know how that story ended.... Kerry also had inconsistent mechanics and a bad arm angle. And friends (I hope).
  3. Soto probably needs a good deal of pressure relieved. Not only are there extremely high expectations that he isn't living up to at the moment, but with almost no production coming from the big hitters, it has to be mounting even more. It definitely seems like he is hurting, and a few days off while K. Hill is playing well is not a bad idea at all.
  4. Jason Waddell now up to 6 innings without a run or walk
  5. Cotts isn't exactly a Mike Remlinger out there, but he's really not much of a loogy. Jason Waddell down in Iowa might be a guy to watch, yet to give up a run or walk this year.
  6. To be fair, a lot of other players and development of players around him came with Garnett. Too bad the current defensive scheme is pretty much dependent on him. The Celtics are hurt most on defense by the lack of Garnett, that was obvious in game 1, I think they showed some graphic that opponents score 10 more ppg w/o him
  7. If the alternative to Jake Fox is Joey Gathright, you have a couple of guys with a limited amount of dimensions to their game. Gathright is not the primary defensive replacement at the moment, and his pinch-running has some rare value. Jake Fox and Hoffpauir on the same team would give you a right handed and left handed bat off the bench. That being said, we are talking 1-2 at bats per week and an occasional start versus whatever baserunning/defensive advantage you have. You'd also have to figure in the value of playing Fox everyday and allowing him to work on his defense and approach a bit more. With the current complexion of the team, it's probably best that Fox stays where he's at.
  8. time to wear down this bullpen for the rest of the series, plan going well thus far
  9. Ball got away from Bako, runners advanced, Fontenot thrown out at home
  10. I think Alf and Ward are equally likely for this right now.
  11. Pie didn't look great tonight, but better, along with the great defensive play.
  12. Didn't say how many hours, so technically he's right.
  13. Other than that Cedeno punk who's only hitting .380 ish, no. Middle infielders from LSU are laaaaaame.
  14. With Fontenot, Theriot and Cedeño, and Aramis coming back, Derosa can afford to take a few days off.
  15. just find a hole in the infield.....or walk
  16. Well, you are the GM, so why can't you just do it? :D
  17. I think it has to not matter for it to be ruled that. For example, up 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th with one runner on, an extra base doesn't matter.
  18. It was mentioned by Len that the only way he would be able to help tonight would be to pinch run for Ward.
  19. FC Dallas and Chivas tie 1-1 with a no-call handball on Chivas' equalizer Galaxy beat Pachuca 2-1 (!)
