  1. That Almora hit is some vintage Juan Pierre Flare. Seeing that blurry home run highlight from a big LH hitter makes me miss Schwarber...
  2. Vogelbomb in the 8th. Good redemption after the golden sombrero. I'm a little surprised to see his K issues early on. edit: only 3 k's on the evening, slightly less bad
  3. Looks like Ryan Williams and Chesny Young got merged into a single 'Ryan Williamsny Young' on the pool. That combination has my vote, but it may not be fair to the rest.
  4. Christ, screw de Jong and the Galaxy. Besides Lletget, has there been anything positive coming from their roster moves since Donovan retired?
  5. Strike 3 to Russell was not a strike in the first inning. But hey, it only took 2 strikes to get an out in the first inning, so who knows what else has changed.
  6. All of their jerseys are awful. These are probably the least awful Speaking of awful uniforms, did the Cubs accidentally leave their road grays in Chicago? This is six straight games of these awful pajama shirts I think Len mentioned they were staying with them b/c of the winning ways on the road trip thus far.
  7. Took me a while to figure out La Stella was giving Fowler the day off. This positional flexibility is impressive.
  8. Miazga had a rough go of it yesterday. Picked up a yellow, had a poor clearance leading to the Swansea goal and got pulled at half. It looks like Pulisic started at forward, played 70+ and picked up an assist today. For those watching Leicester/Sunderland, how'd Yedlin do?
  9. I wonder how long Rondon has been warm now.
  10. Markey went 5 scoreless, 4k/1bb. Paniagua got the save with 2 k's. No xbh's in the 1-0 Tennessee win.
  11. Rubby vs. Warren was probably one of the least likely matchups going into tonight.
  12. In my mind, the frustrating thing with Soler was that plate discipline was one possibly one of his strengths in his limited time in the minor leagues. With his inability to hit major league offspeed pitches, it seems he might have been getting by due to minor leaguers not being able to locate breaking balls. He'll definitely need adjustments to his game, so this season will indeed be telling.
  13. I agree. It seemed like the right move at the time and I'm still in favor of it. Putting a good baserunner as the winning run on 1st with Peralta coming up is a bit risky. I would have strongly considered having Rondon warm and double-switching him and Szczur in once you had 2 outs, 2 on and the DP no longer mattering. In a playoff game, it probably goes down like that, but I'm guessing Cahill gets a little more rope this early in the season.
  14. Hammel's slider is looking nice. I'm afraid someone is going to belt one of those over-the-plate fastballs 450 feet each at-bat, though.
  15. SB is getting destroyed by the Whitecaps. Down 8-0 through 2 1/3 with 3 errors and no hits.
  16. Doubling his career minor league total in the process. Adding any kind of power would make him fairly interesting given his versatility and plate discipline.
  17. It's amazing that with how well Dortmund is doing, he could play in three European competitions by the age of 20.
  18. Edwards with a line of 1.0 IP 0 R 1h 1bb 2k. One of the strikeouts was Gallo and he only threw 11/22 for strikes, so not the best outing to start the season.
